this isn't directed at any individual user, so it doesn't feel like it belongs in the wanker thread, and it's maybe a little too spicy for "minor/petty salt," but i need to get this off my chest:
goddamn do I wish there were a rule in the Suggestions forum that each user could only make one post per thread with their opinion.
this may seem harsh, but i'm just so tired of the back-and-forth arguments and threads getting endlessly bumped back up by the same set of like four users who just CANNOT tolerate not having the last word. that's not what the Suggestions forum is for, and people just seem psychologically incapable of not treating it like each individual thread constitutes a kind of vote, where if there are more posts in support of the suggestion than opposed then it "wins." (i'm also personally tired of my own posts in these giant threads getting buried because i'm not willing to try to argue down every single person who disagrees with me. but the staff are only human, so i do worry: when i express an opinion that goes against the grain, will it inevitably get drowned out?)
if someone else's post makes someone, including the OP, want to modify their opinion? great! use the edit function.

Any advice on how to handle this? I don't use CS normally, couple years back someone suggested I register ahead for the 18th to try to sell for FR currency... This time I remembered to claim pets but have no clue how to handle pricing or negotiation here.
I just added up how much I've spent on purchasing gems this year and I'm honestly disgusted with myself. I didn't think it would add up to be so much, it really wasn't worth it.

I've been playing FR for nearly a decade at this point. Love what I've accomplished during that time, but at this point I don't know what I want to do. My account is just about "complete", I've maxed out every level there is to max out. I've gathered so much items and in-game money my wallet never really aches anymore. There's no reason to play the game other than to collect new stuff whenever an update releases. Which I can usually just buy right away from the AH. While I don't have most of the rare familiars, and I don't have my lair or hibden maxed out, those aren't goals I want to accomplish either.
I want to start fresh, I want to feel that excitement of actually playing the game again. Actually have things to work towards other than gene projects.

I know staff does not close accounts on request either. If I wasn't so scared of getting caught and losing both my current account and the new account, I would've restarted already. I don't want to exalt my current dragons either. Doing a lair revamp wouldn't let me re-level baldwin or gathering either.

(Anonymous) 2025-01-05 10:41 am (UTC)(link)asking bc I don't have the technical knowledge to grab the audio files directly from the site (already tried inspect element and didn't get anywhere with it) and they don't seem to be available on youtube anymore except for shock switch's (well, and technically also tidal trouble if you count a gameplay video with sound effects playing over it, but that's not exactly ideal)
today I went to play runestones for a pursuit and the music actually loaded for the first time in months, but the screen recorder site I tried to use to capture the audio (in hindsight idk why I didn't just open OBS lol) didn't actually record it for some reason and I didn't notice until I had already closed the tab, and ofc on reopening it the game went back to being silent again... ;_;

Bummed at the complete lack of money I made on NoTN now that I'm preoccupied with a crappy job. Grinding the coli is tedious and not something I want to dedicate the limited amount of free time I have these days doing. I can get some rounds in while on my breaks but that's all the grinding I really get done these days. I know it's not the game's fault, just kinda sucks. Personally the biggest win for me this update is being able to do 15 slots at once instead of 10.

I've been thinking more about the fun of impromptu 24hr Earth v Light, as well as the constant debate about just how much impact flight population ratios truly have.
And… you know what feels like a really fun potential community thing (albeit one that would take a ton of organizing)? A dominance 2v2 battle with two weaker flights (for this to work they'd have to be large population ones like Shadow or Arcane; Nature could work too probably? I'd say Wind but they never seem to struggle in practice) being sponsored by two stronger flights.
The sponsor flights would essentially have to do this for the love of the game, since it is losing out on a lot of dragon cash without a prize beyond bragging rights… but given that bragging rights are the main prize to begin with, I don't think this is insurmountable, and man would it be FUN.
