cw for animal death!

this has been bothering me for a minute but today it kind of came to a shocking head. i feel slightly bad for this person and its not onsite so im categorizing this as petty salt but god does it piss me off.
in the g1 hell discord server theres this person whos always sharing about reptiles, ect cetera, whatever good for them. they seem young. about a month ago(?) they got a snake.
today i peek my head in on my lunch break and theyve been PINGING RANDOM PEOPLE yelling that their snake died and they need help. just a couple hours before theyd been venting about another animal of theirs being injured as well.

no trigger/content warnings, just fucking pinging a bunch of people who barely interact with them that their snake died. they also shared pictures of the dead snake (thankfully spoiler tagged. but still no cw)

now theyre complaining that the seller didnt tell them enough info and its clearly the guys fault. homie its YOUR fault for not doing research into your impulse purchase of an animal.
why is your first reaction to finding your animal dead to ping random people in a flight rising discord server

same anon - also, this server doesnt have a vent channel for a reason. to discourage this shit. i checked and this person is a (young) adult, why do you think its okay to act like this in a server of basically strangers

oh whew.
i know i'd be really distressed to be specifically directly pinged to a discussion of animal, particularly pet animal, death. it's an upsetting topic for a huge number of people.

i hope the server mods at least pulled this person aside to make it clear that this just isn't okay to do. (and that's not even getting into how easy it is to fuck up with reptiles, snakes perhaps especially. it may well have been an irresponsible breeder, but that's why doing your research is so crucial: so you don't end up financially supporting those kinds of practices.)

Holy wow. I feel so bad for those people. That would ruin my day. Wtf does the owner even expect them to say?

bruh wtf. i get the panic over what happened, but that's not ok. triggering topic and all. spoiler & TW the text and then maybe ping people & direct them to it, so they can choose to view it or not, knowing whats in the message. and if no one is up for it, sorry. also maybe join a specific reptile discord or subreddit or sthn? honestly even the first message is worth a spoiler & TW since it's literally "impending pet death"

also yeah the last part about "the seller told me i can use this tiny enclosure so that's what i got but research (clearly done after purchase) says the complete opposite" is wild. hopefully this is a lesson about not impulse purchasing living pets without research-- like it's one thing to do a bunch of research and know u want sthn, and then u stumble across it and impulse buy, at least u know what ur getting into. but op clearly didn't do the basic research if they didn't even know what type of enclosures they should get. and didn't think it thru if in hindsight they know these kinda snakes 'aren't for me.' hella irresponsible. hope the guilt sticks enough for them to learn.
