weirded out fact that i started reading AR and ARR when i was on FR daily and ended up visiting ARR daily long after my FR usage fell down the drain (joined in 2013, played daily until 2019ish I think), lurking until the usernames no longer made any sense because i had never had any shot at seeing them before

am I uniquely insane for this or did anyone else have a similar development of online habit? I didn't even post until now afaik, I just lurked?

lol I RUN this blog and I'm not very active on FR myself. (I do my dailies, spend some time in coli when new stuff comes out, and I collect one of each of the festival stuff, but otherwise I'm more active on other sites/games.)

I did the same for Pokefarm and its confessions blog lol (was the same anon who brought up that one time its admin looking through a player's purchase history to belittle them a few months ago—I finally quit!). For that game, it serves as a good reminder why I stopped playing in the first place.

I use ARR to keep track of people I should add to my blocklist, since here you have to post actual proof, unlike other drama blogs where people can just make shit up.

Other than that I don't care for the petty other dramas such as dom or general community or FR admin drama. I play FR but other than that I am pretty removed from the community there and keep to myself.

I've been wondering something. You can't buy auctions from banned players, but what happens to queued CRs? If the banned account has money/items ready to be sent and the other player clicks to accept it?

A few years ago my friend got in that situation, with a 1-way CR sent from a banned account - CR couldn't be accepted or cancelled, it was just "frozen". Pretty sure that staff had to fix that CR for my friend, not sure whether they fixed the underlying issue.

TL;DR- rare hybrid was dropped at the "adopt a cub" tree, and two people got it at the same time, and one person got a glitched duplicate with no markings.

They reported the bug, mods made them KILL it, and basically told the person to fuck off. The site erupted, and the mods shut down chat.

Linking this because in the comments, someone said "And I thought this site had better mods than Flight Rising. Guess I was wrong. "

Followed by a few people chiming in with "Yeah flight rising sucks ass they deleted 4 of my friends' accounts because we were "trading too much" and they thought it was suspicious." and I'm just sitting there going

"You're just mad you got caught multiaccounting."

After reading over that thread I'm kind of glad I eventually stopped playing Lioden, goddamn. Their mod team is fully anonymous in chat now, too? How is there any accountability with a system like that? Just let them have alt accounts they can actually play the game on in peace like pretty much every other pet site if there are privacy or harassment concerns. The site I work for right now is not a pet site but has allowed it for fifteen plus years and never had an issue.

I'm literally hung up on that so hard rn lol. I'm sure (at least I hope) that on the back end the devs have a way to see which moderator sent which message. But anonymity like that breeds power tripping because there's no personal accountability for making overly strict decisions, and it turns the mods into a monolith where every decision is going to be assumed to come from a unified front. Yeah, it means your words read as decisive and final, but that kind of loss of individual authoritative identity also discourages "breaking rank" to contest precedents you disagree with, which can lead to a sneaky spiral of increasingly more hostile moderation decisions.

Also...

Somehow it's always staff's fault instead of one dumbass friend handing out hot items and funds without thinking about it, lol. Or one person only logging in to send stuff over to the others.

Like, protip: It's still funneling if the items are being distributed to three accounts instead of one.

Why wouldn’t staff let this happen? So long as the gems weren’t ill-gotten in some manner and the raffle isn’t a cover for RMT/multi-ing or some such, why would they care? It isn’t against any rules to give away a million gems. Even if the user bailed on giving it away in the end, it’s a free entry so it’s not like anyone’s getting scammed.

This isn't intended as wank or anything, hence the OT thread.

Was looking at sQLD's G&G Very Hard Ultimate Solver thread and came across a comment by xorsat on page 45 linking to a thread where they'd worked out how to find the most efficient way to solve any board and made an extension for it. (https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/gde/3365696/1)

I tried it and it worked really well! Following the help from the extension I could solve the game in 19 clicks.

But now I'm left wondering who xorsat is, considering they seem to me like someone who created an user solely to show off this tool. My guess would be either a mathy partner/friend of a regular FR player who was shown the game and existing guides and wanted the challenge of improving it, or a benign multi of someone not wanting their actual account associated with the tools.

Any other theories?

I’m not planning on giving them away since I would like to put the gems towards art for my OCs.

just venting about how im blocked by seemingly one (1) person who i dont recall interacting with and it bugs me bc idk what i did </3 i would never block evade or anything even if they have goods and services i am actually interested in (they do, which is how i even noticed the block), it just kinda feels bad and makes me wonder what i did wrong and how i can remedy it so i can make sure im not being annoying/bothersome to anyone else. i know i will never know tho. its been some time since i noticed the block and i have taken several long haituses in the past so maybe i was dumb or failed at some etiquette at some point that i cant remember. whatever it was that did it, i hope they did just find me annoying as a person (valid!) and that i didnt accidentally do or say something out of pocket :( been playing for a long time and try to be kind and fair in all my interactions and dont recall having any beef with anyone. it doesnt really matter i guess but yeah it just makes you reflect you know?

Looking through the santae-salt tumblr blog and it looks like there's a whole thing about the implementation of a gacha box for minimals (whatever that means) and the site owner locking a feedback thread for whatever reason.

I kinda don't care when sites have these kinds of gambling-esque features (one could argue FR isn't any better with their eggs and scatterscrolls) but seeing Santae continuously stumble always gets a kick out of me. How do they keep fucking it up.

NGL I am pretty hyped. The dev updates have been kinda slow for the past couple of months so hearing word that beta is finally around the corner did wonders for morale. I only sort of wish there was a bit more time to get days off in advance but it's no big deal.
