just venting about how im blocked by seemingly one (1) person who i dont recall interacting with and it bugs me bc idk what i did </3 i would never block evade or anything even if they have goods and services i am actually interested in (they do, which is how i even noticed the block), it just kinda feels bad and makes me wonder what i did wrong and how i can remedy it so i can make sure im not being annoying/bothersome to anyone else. i know i will never know tho. its been some time since i noticed the block and i have taken several long haituses in the past so maybe i was dumb or failed at some etiquette at some point that i cant remember. whatever it was that did it, i hope they did just find me annoying as a person (valid!) and that i didnt accidentally do or say something out of pocket :( been playing for a long time and try to be kind and fair in all my interactions and dont recall having any beef with anyone. it doesnt really matter i guess but yeah it just makes you reflect you know?

blocks can be for all sorts of stuff unrelated to personal behavior, too. ive blocked people because their unfed fodder was annoying me on the AH listings and blocked someone because their forum post title was completely benign song lyrics that reminded me of an ex. it also could have been an accidental block if they were scrolling on their phone. its entirely possible that, in the past, you DID commit some sort of social faux pas, but theres not much you can do atm other than try to accept, which it sounds like you're doing. and i know its easy for me to say this stuff but actually dealing with the thought of someone potentially being upset at you is much, much harder. i wish you the best, nonny o7

original op here; thank you this is comforting!! i totally respect someone not wanting to interact with me for any reason, and will not be contacting them in any way of course. its whatever really, but it just makes me wonder what the heck i did and i cant help but think about it sometimes.
i think i just give it more weight bc i never block people unless theyre like. REALLY bad. but of course not everyone plays the game like that haha.

if you genuinely cant remember, might be worth contacting them and asking. personally i've had people dm like this and i didn't count it as block evasion because it was legitimately something minor like they were listing unfed fodder and i was happy to unblock

If someone I had blocked contacted me demanding to know why I did it, I’d unlock them long enough to submit the report and then block them twice as hard after and they’d still never even get to know the original reason. I don’t care if it was over something petty or minor, the minute you refuse to respect that I don’t want to interact with you, is the minute you’ve escalated yourself up to a major reason for a block. Do not contact people who have blocked you.

I've reported friends of Faileas and Piscine for trying to ask me why I blocked them (and because they wanted to buy G1s from me).

I don't even reply, just report them all for block evasion, block THEM, and pretend they never talked to me.

SA, but how would you even contact the blocker? If it’s through using another party, congrats, you’ve just gotten both your accounts locked. If it’s through posting on a forum post of theirs or something, that’s still block evading and you’ve now put this all out in the open for strangers to see. And if it’s through contacting them off site, I can’t think of many things major enough on the dragon breeding sim game that warrants harassing people on their tumblr or something (and I doubt anything that may be excusable would apply here if OP can’t even guess as to why they’re blocked).

There’s just no good way to go about this even if it wasn’t a dick move in the first place.

No, it at best gets a slap on the wrist and told no, bad user, knock it off. Which is so stupid. I mean, the dude that keeps using third parties for pinglists has gotten nothing.

i disagree. it's a whole lot easier to prove block evading in these circumstances (basically a "paper trail" in their pms of someone asking "why did you block me/my friend") as opposed to the block evading methods à la kyrin18 et al.

??? wasn't demanding anything. that is something i've had happen to me, personally, and i didn't feel weird about it. i'm not the one contacting people who have me blocked lol, people have contacted me about me having them blocked

You may not care if people you've blocked contact you, but others absolutely do. In fact, I'd argue most people who block someone don't want to be contacted by them. Recommending OP contact the user that blocked them is just setting them up to get in trouble.
