Any advice on how to handle this? I don't use CS normally, couple years back someone suggested I register ahead for the 18th to try to sell for FR currency... This time I remembered to claim pets but have no clue how to handle pricing or negotiation here.

This is going to sound like a bit of a non-answer but I've been wondering this for years (just went online and claimed my Dec 18 pets and let them gather dust) until this year when I asked friends/people in my flight Discord server if anyone could help me out and I got a ton of super helpful answers. Ended up making 10kg from a single pet! I've started understanding CS more now but it's really hard to get price estimations without sharing your account/pets so getting someone to help you is the easiest way.

I don't really trust most people who are offering to buy on the forums lol as I/other friends got lowballed a few times. Some of them are okay though. If they state upfront what pets they want and what they're offering or they immediately make an offer when you show your pets then they're usually making decent offers in my experience. The ones who ask you to offer seem to be hoping that you'll say 'idk what it's worth can you let me know?' so they can lowball you. Probably not all of them are but y'know how it is.

I didn't think of that resource, so that is helpful. Guess I'll put out feelers that way. Worst case, I don't lose anything if they sit.

I was suspicious of some of the forum sellers I saw without upfront pricing(and one with), especially as they seemed very quick to go to DMs so no one can see the offer.(The one with upfront prices I question was whining because publicly posted offers are being taken back because people are countering their price privately in DMs before they accept.
If the offers were that good, why would other folks go higher?) I guess my instincts aren't terrible.

i vaguely who ur talking abt so i went and checked (i play both games) and their offers range from market price to overpay. i think being annoyed at people backing out of trades is relatively Reasonable but :shrug: i understand being wary regardless lol

made an account. got the advent calendar pet and all the other ones. i now have four pages of pets that have to grow up. i am... confused. i feel simultaneously very old (what's happening what do i do what's the point of all of this am i old?? i must be old) and very young (i haven't seen a forum like this in yeeeeeeeeeears)

the RPG costume accessories are cute tho, and i like that there's space for adult conversations in the forums!

it's an adoptable website with a forum attached. the 'game' is collecting the pets, trading/dressing them, and interacting on the forums. they have occasional events like the summer event, but there's nothing else much to it. it's a very, very simple site that has hardly changed over the years, and it's almost like beanie baby collecting where they have no real use/game involved and the pets mostly sit in collections to look at.

there's a lot of sunk cost involved with players, and if you have original versions of the really rare pets (dec. 18th pets are valuable, but never as valuable as the ones with the original dates attached) or full sets of special themed pets for trade, you can get some serious offsite trading done with them. people will actually go feral for some.

yeah. i don't really actively play cs because sometimes i forget to do the monthly adoption thing, but dec 18th alone made me 20kg because i got an unreleased pet
