no idea if anything specific is going on, but SMR has been really unreliable about publishing stuff in a timely fashion lately, and it has made it hard to actually use it to talk/vent about current issues.
i haven't posted any of these lukewarm takes but the change has definitely pushed me, personally, towards checking ARR way more than SMR rather than the other way around. wouldn't be the biggest surprise if we're seeing a subtle migration.

i'm the only admin queueing posts at this point, so it's hard to have a faster turnaround time

fwiw, i made most of my own judgment call re: timing as a result of the period of time when SMR fell behind substantially. it has definitely been better since! but considering how my own habits have shifted as a result, it was the best i could offer for speculation for the anon i was replying to, and struck me as much more likely than some kind of big ~SMR crimes~ reveal, lmao.
