This is more of a rant somewhat related to the thread in the title, but also kinda positive?

Today, after seven years of participating in NoTN I decided to try and bond with ALL of the familiars I own, not only the ones on my active dragons. Everytime I awaken a familiar, a copy is put in my vault.

Holy. Fuck. I don't think I'll be able/want to do it ever again.

The odd ~100 non-awakened plus 979 in the Vault were a slog to get through. I'd rather train 50 dragons to level 10 in one sitting. Yeah, I got a ton of chests, 88 to be exact (including the ones obtained from trading all the extra stuff to Higgins from bonding)
Do you want to know how many Mums I got from this? Two, two measly flowers. The same amount I can get from bonding on a good day.

I don't know why the OP is calling them "worthless" the LAH is still around the 19g/KT mark for each individual flower.

But anyway, now here's the small amount of sugar:
To all the users who bond with all of your familiars the entirety of NotN, I admire you and your patience.

*I can get two Mums from •gathering• not bonding damnit, all that bonding fried my brain.

The OP of that thread is the same one that agreed with Almedha that Tomo shouldn't have Eliminate stones.

They are just full of bad takes.

I tried to bond with all my 800+ familiars and gave up by the third day.

Leveling exalt fodder yields more chests in the same amount of time-- over an hour of bonding familiars!!!!-- if you count: the chests you get from exalting, the chests that drop directly as loot in the coliseum and the items to trade for chests at Higgins.

If you're looking to speed up the bonding, if you have a two devices, you can open the familiar selection screen (set to "Not Bonded Today") on one device and select on that device while clicking the bond button and refreshing on the other. I get through my 900 familiars in 30-35 minutes by selecting familiars on my phone and clicking + refreshing (with refresh bound to a button on my mouse) on desktop.

This is how I do it with around 1000 familiars - I actually prefer bonding to coli for NOTN (and might even start to do it for festivals instead in the future). It’s just as mindless as Coli once you get the hang of it. I just watch YouTube or a show or something, and it’s over before I know it.

The most annoying part for me is taking them all out of the Vault in the first place (plus putting them back after) since it’s so many pages. I wish we had a ‘Move everything to Hoard/Vault’ option.

(In regard to the original topic though - it’s still hardly ‘no effort’ as it does take like 30 minutes of constant clicking/refeshing not to mention the work that went into getting 1000+ familiars in the first place. And I wouldn’t say I get oodles of Mums or any dropping item from it. I’ve been hoping for one of the Purple bows to drop all NOTN and still haven’t got it. I definitely wouldn’t do it outside of festivals. If someone does choose to bond every single one of their fams every single day to fame Mums, they deserve them.)

I love the "whaaaaat" reaction of folks who haven't discovered easy ways to bond with familiars. It's wholesome.

i do this but on desktop, with two windows side by side resized/zoomed in so the bond button on one page is only an inch from the list of fams on the other page, and just click from one page to the other and refresh the dragon profile i'm bonding on. takes me about an hour for 1200~ fams.

i also have fams on dragons in my lair (like 170~ dragons) and just arrow right to the next dragon, spam click the bond button, immediately right arrow to the next page etc., to bond those real fast. i miss like 4-5 when I do this but it gets 'em done fast.

u can also do it all on mobile if u have a browser that allows u to swipe between tabs using the address bar, select a fam then swipe back to the dragon profile, refresh, bond, swipe back to select another fam, etc.

Also, the close button (NOT the x, the one with the "close" text) on bond with familiar refreshes the page itself. This means you could also do (tab 1) bond -> (tab 2) add familiar -> (tab 1) close -> repeat

Just want to say that when I did the two window method, I never had to refresh.

Basically, what I would do is, bond the familiar, go to the other window, change the familiar to a new one, and then click close on the first window. The page would refresh and the new familiar would be showing, click bond, go to the other window, change familiar, and then go back and click close and it refreshes automatically.

This was with both windows on desktop, not sure if it would work quite the same way with two devices.

Not sure if this is what you meant, it just sounded like you would close the popup bonding window, then change the familiar and have to refresh after you changed the familiar.

AYRT: I neglected to mention that you could also do this. For my setup it's much faster and requires left effort for me to refresh (as it's bound to a button on my mouse) rather than moving my mouse back and forth between bond & "Close".

SA: And forgot to say: I just don't interact with the popup window at all. If you refresh after changing familiars it does the same thing as if you were to hit close, you just save time not having to move the mouse.

Ah, okay, then it wouldn't take more time (I was picturing clicking close, picking new familiar then hitting refresh).

Since I do it on one device, I am already having to move the mouse back and forth so it is about the same for me.

ngl, I've read that thread in forums and went full-blown "what" because OP themselves say that they spent an hour bonding with familiars for weeks... and that's somehow "not an effort"?? Literally what.

As someone who was always on the 'they don't need to be made common' bandwagon (though I agreed that as more dragons go blossoms, it would be nice if their drop rate was upped just a bit for each one, not so they would be common, but just a bit easier to obtain), as I feel that having something be long term to obtain was fine (since the gene isn't retiring)....

I have gotten one mum from bonding that I know of, and I am fine with having it drop from bonding. It doesn't seem to be raining from the sky, and with more dragons having the gene that uses it, having it more common, just slightly, will keep it at about the same price, instead of it skyrocketing.

SA I had the opposite problem of you, I kept wanting to say mums from gathering, not bonding :P
