Earth has a good steady dom culture and they're known for being a powerhouse when they want to be because of their numbers. It's well discussed here, so I thought you were being facetious when asking about their dom culture.

But to answer your question, yeah their dom culture is pretty good, and from what I understand, their discord is nice- not too busy, mostly adults. (I'm in Lightning, but MANY of my friends are in Earth and they love it.)

There is one factor to take into account:

No one can beat Earth at Dominance anymore, due to how Dominance is computed and their tiny tiny population.

And because there are people in Earth who heavily exalt every week as part of their normal playstyle, the flight leaders actually have to be careful about when they schedule actual dominance pushes, because they can easily overtake other flights without trying hard.

If you really yearn for actual battles with flips back and forth in the dominance board, Earth might not be for you.

This is not true? Earth got their ass kicked in Earth Vs Water, the last battle they participated in. They haven't battled another flight since.

If you're thinking of the one mentioned in the dom stats, it's another one. The 17k dragons was during water's fest push

genuinely. i have no idea where the anon you replied to gets their definition of "ass kicked" from; if anything's ass got kicked, it was water's treasury.

they're right in that earth isn't undefeatable, WvE 2021 remains THE biggest OOF participation post hibden release, and that fight had water needing 62% (~490k levels) of OOF support to earn that victory over earth's 38% (a smidge over 300k levels). even still, that fight had flips! earth fought really hard, and water had to seriously claw their way to victory.

also, there's obvious reasons why earth might not have battled these last few years. people are there to profit from dom benefits (which they can get by placing in top 3 virtually every week by just existing- they had 49 top 3 finishes this year out of 52 weeks!) while fights require losses to be competitive, and other flights know they'd have to pay out the ass to remain in contention with earth OR have heavy battle rules to keep costs low while risking sucking the fun out of the fight. they'd need to be absolutely blind to even slightly imply that earth isn't fighting because of losing WvE 2021.

Are you insane? The was a heavily contested difficult as fuck battle. As a droplet that was involved, pleased don't belittle the strength and amount of time and resources that took. We prepared most of a year for that battle.

No one sane wants to seriously battle earth because the site stacks everything against them. Water just had the resources and smaller size difference to make it doable with a lot of resources.

earth doesn't battle other flights much anymore because the dom leads find it too tiring, which I think is fair. it hardly has anything to do with the loss of wve

I mean, earth still runs several big spectacular pushes per year. Most of their internal focus is on encouraging in flight participation; they have in flight raffles for any push, profit or conquest, and the prizes in flight are REALLY good. Like, usually even better than their OOF raffle prizes good.

literally every earth raffle i've participated in since moving gave me a prize. usually it's a good prize too like a gene pack, i also won a skin once

tbh organizing battles IS exhausting. It takes a ton of your time and energy for planning and during the battle itself it's a lot of mental energy to monitor everything and make sure things are flowing correctly and you're keeping an eye on the enemy flight. Intense battles are rough on a Dom Team, it's not unusual for Dom Teams to hibernate for like two weeks after a stressful push because they've given so much mental energy to Flightrising that they need a break before getting back into it.

Not in Earth, but as someone who has actually organized three battles - do it yourself if you're so smart then :)

Regular pushes are easy but battles are an entirely different thing that, frankly, is a lot work for little extra payoff as compared to a regular push, especially if you do not win.

"little extra payoff"?? no one i know who's into dom gives a shit about the dom benefits lol frankly we'd all still be doing it if there weren't benefits attached to placing.

genuinely, if you feel like battles are not worth it compared to regular conquest pushes i question why you're a dom org who organizes battles (instead of focusing on fest or something). according to the big dom survey the vast majority of people who are into dom like battling. presumably because it's a competitive event like any other game or sport.

this is real, it's not worth it for literally any flight. you're dumping so much money and energy in for...what? a guaranteed flipless battle?

I'd like to see Light try it, tbh.
