buyers remorse

I just added up how much I've spent on purchasing gems this year and I'm honestly disgusted with myself. I didn't think it would add up to be so much, it really wasn't worth it.

I definitely used to have a pretty bad habit of making too many in-app purchases because the microtransactions were so small it was hard to see them adding up over time. Fortunately FR is a browser based game so maybe blocking the purchase gems page would help? Anyway, I can relate to the shame that comes from the end of year roundup of all my small online impulse purchases

Been there, done that.
OP, it gets better once you start to get your head underwater.
I spent hundreds in art, gacha and micro transactions when I had a low paying job and worse, when I had no job at all (I had 500$ a month, and I was still buying 200$ adopts... yeah.)
And very suddenly, I realized: this is fucking stupid, I'm going outside.
Now, I have a limit of 40$/month for games and micro transactions. I'd suggest you set up a hard limit for yourself. Be it 5$ or 50$. Maybe translate the money you put in the game as what you will directly get: do you want to buy gems to buy yet another ungened G1 that is not that good? To buy yet another UMA that will gather dust because you don't have gems to buy dragons? Or do you want to treat yourself with a gem gene to finish a project, or an expensive familiar to complete your bestiary?

It's very hard to break free of FOMO. But it's just pixels.

The only thing I ever regretted not buying on FR (a dragon), I managed to buy its exact twin just a few days ago, after two years. Anything else I wanted? I forgot about. And this stands for everything "pixel" I used to buy. I regret nothing I missed buying.

Good luck <3

DA, but I feel that.

I do not want to talk about the serious problem of gacha games.

And you'll laugh, but I spent more money than I wanna mention in Love Nikki.

I quit playing five years ago and I do not regret it.

Way off topic, but I don't like how most modern day fashion/ dress up games have some sort of gacha component. Like I want to play dress up, not gamble T_T

AYRT

HARD SAME. It's why I ended up quitting Love Nikki because the last year I was playing, it became SUCH a cash sink and the quality was going down because there's now Shining Nikki and Infinite Nikki and I just. Augh. I gave up lol.

I just wanted to play dress up with the pretty outfits!!!

I'm sorry to hear you spent too much. I think of it as my voluntary subscription to support a game I love (and for which I use adblockers), but if you're not that into it or go too far, I feel you.
