i feel like i constantly see complaints of discord servers for “cliquey behavior” when theres no intentional exclusion or gossip going on. just people being friends and sharing jokes. leaving any server where people make friends is a self fulfilling prophecy dude!!! join in some conversations!!! youll become a “regular” eventually. its scary but its worth it. feels like the attitude is rooted in social anxiety which is understandable but you cant make that other peoples problem by bitching about it publicly.

I am part of a FR Facebook group and sometimes, people post about being banned.
It always intrigues me how they dodge the reason in comments, mostly saying "my brother and sister play but they haven't logged in for days/months/years" with dozens of comments either confirming or denying that is bannable.
Sometimes, rarely, the ban was wrong or unjust and trigger happy staff just blanket banned without investigating properly and very very rarely is the ban overturned.
In some ways I feel a little pity for the genuine mistakes and nothing for those who claim they are not a multi-- then again, we see plenty on here, report them and nothing happens *cough*MiaShuji*cough* and yet these seemingly innocent people are so upset that they got banned and most of the time, after some digging they had done something shady.
I do wonder where staff draws that line and if they even when given evidence which some players have done, simply say..no. But are letting blatent multi's and RTC happen without batting an eyelid. It's just so bizarre to me.

What a user might think is a blantant RMT or multi, might not be. They might be a group of dedicated 'friends' (basically just a group of people, not necessarily friends) who are all doing things like this. Which isn't against the rules.
Then again, it might also be that some of these cases require more digging, because even if it IS a multi, if the multi is smart, they can make it look like it isn't. (such as not blatantly funneling from one account to the main) Which means more digging is required.
As I have said in the past in regards to 'banxiety', staff of pet sites most often don't want to ban people. They want people using their site, because it ups the metrics and gives them more ad revenue. The more they ban people, the more likely people, whether they were unfairly banned or not, are going to warn people away from the site. If the person was banned unfairly, that is even worse.
So, even if it might seem obvious to players, the staff can't just ban them without making sure that it is. Especially since I have seen many people who jump on a multi-hunt bandwagon because they dislike the person they are accusing.
Look at the other thread on here where people were talking about cross site trading and how it is often a cover for RMT. As someone who does occasionally cross site trade, the vast majority of trades I see are legit. Sure, there are some that aren't, but I would say that those are the minority of trades. It is just that some big name players are involved so they get mentioned more. The majority of people who cross site trade don't get mentioned and thus those trades just happen without anyone even knowing about it (and yes, I have cross site traded with multiple users for CS stuff from FR before)
There is also the tendency to ascribe 'bad motives' to everything a person does if they do one thing wrong, or they are disliked. I have seen it in the past where someone is accused of being a multi, and other people will start throwing around rumors of them being transphobic, or racist, and when asked for evidence, can't provide anything or the evidence they do provide is so weak it is practically non-existant. It is just that that person isn't liked. (I have seen this not just on FR but other sites as well)
So, someone is disliked by a group of people, and they do a cross site trade, it is easy for that group of people to say 'that must be RMT' and report it, without any more evidence than the person they reported is not liked or has done something else against the rules.
Add in how many reports the staff most likely has to wade through, I am sure that there are some that DO slip through the cracks, and some where it might seem like they are getting away with it, but the staff just hasn't completed the investigation yet/gotten to it. Even with evidence, staff still has to investigate, especially as I know some people are fond of sending screenshots, which can easily be faked. Or they want the staff to take action based upon off site activity.
Basically, I feel this is a case of 'damned if you do, damned if you don't.' If staff just start banning quickly, they are going to be accused of being 'trigger happy' and increase banxiety, especially since there will be unfair bans handed out. If they take their time to ban, they are accused of not doing anything and people get upset that blatant rule breakers are allowed to keep playing.

i know the mods locked the ai thread for a reason but im going to correct misinformation when i see it. online generative ai models dont generally train on the images people “feed in” to them as prompts. youre not going to make it “steal from” flight rising by putting fr images in it.
the training data is already in the model. it would be wildly expensive and completely unnecessary to retrain the an online model based on the images people prompt it with. its a tiny sample compared to the scraping of the entire internet these companies have already done. chances are its already used flight rising images as training data, even. the models already exist, you can download them onto your computer and theyll work the same. prompting generative ai doesnt “feed” it. its not cleverbot.

also want to clarify some of the misconceptions that lead people to think like this: generative ai isnt taking two peoples art and mashing it together. it takes hundreds of thousands of images with good captioning to train a model, and those images get parameterized and turned into formulas. you cant crack open an ai and “find the images its mashing together”, its just vectors. any given model is way smaller in file size than the images that trained it because those images arent present in the model anymore, just formulas about what color pixels tend to be next to each other in images labeled “bird”.
even if a company wanted to take images fed into it as training data, that would be pretty much useless. theres no captions on the image to say what it depicts. a flight rising image in isolation doesnt help a generative model learn what a dragon looks like unless its labeled as “dragon”. and its not level worthwhile. unless specifically prompted with image to image or a custom trained model (which people have to go out of their way to make), the contribution of any one individual image to a final product is going to be a rounding error, because again, theres at least hundreds of thousands of images in the training data.

This is only a cautionary post that many people might not think about.
If you plan on creating cutesy hatchling accents with human baby items please be careful naming the accent. It can be very easy to mistake your innocent art for fetish content if you unknowingly give it a name that contains words commonly found in the DDLG community. Being cautious will prevent any false reports from well meaning individuals.

My flight has one, but it's becoming a little too personal of a space, but we don't really have active mods atm to keep an eye on the negativity and how it's used... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Idk. How many dead/undead babies have you seen on pg sites?
I know Staff has their reasons for limiting the hatchling festival winners to only 2 artists, but considering their history of choosing repeat winners every month I don't think that this is a good idea. It's only going to make the community lash out at them more if they pick the same artist when they have such a severly limited pool of winners. Especially considering this is something people have asked them to release for years and are so excited to finally get. They should really raise the number of winners.
I'm guessing the number of louder "this is too niche, not everyone has/wants/likes eternal youths, no hatchling fest entries plz" opinions factored into the decision and this is supposed to be the compromise.
I guess it will really come down to how many actually get entered and whether or not they take off? Since they're also expanding the winners again... there's possibility for youths to get a winners expansion in the future too?

Hatchling skins have additional rules that should be followed when creating skins for baby dragons:
Designs should not adultify the hatchling.
This rule is specific to skin and accent visual depictions and design names/titles as skins and accents are official site items once approved.
This rule includes but is not limited to: thigh-high stockings, harnesses, garters, excessively short skirts/shorts, undergarments, depictions of historically fetishized clothing, depictions that communicate or imply inappropriate age-related tropes, design names or titles that when combined with the design communicate inappropriate age-related tropes, or otherwise try to communicate or imply the imaged hatchling is a sexually mature dragon.
If a design and/or title/name is determined to be depicting fetish or otherwise inappropriate art, using claims such as "fashion" in appeal will not be accepted as a way to bypass this rule.
Please note: Limiting what clothing can be depicted on hatchlings is not intended as an implication that some clothing is "inherently sexual" in nature or to validate any form of victim-blaming. When it comes to the site-approved depiction of minors, we must apply broader rules to combat those acting in bad faith or otherwise seeking to inflict harm.
Designs should not place the implication of violent wounds on the hatchling.
The same rules regarding wounds as adult dragons are applied with the following additions: No exposed bones and no gore outside the limits of official Flight Rising genes and eye types.

This rule includes but is not limited to: thigh-high stockings, harnesses, garters, excessively short skirts/shorts, undergarments, depictions of historically fetishized clothing, depictions that communicate or imply inappropriate age-related tropes, design names or titles that when combined with the design communicate inappropriate age-related tropes, or otherwise try to communicate or imply the imaged hatchling is a sexually mature dragon.
If a design and/or title/name is determined to be depicting fetish or otherwise inappropriate art, using claims such as "fashion" in appeal will not be accepted as a way to bypass this rule.
Please note: Limiting what clothing can be depicted on hatchlings is not intended as an implication that some clothing is "inherently sexual" in nature or to validate any form of victim-blaming. When it comes to the site-approved depiction of minors, we must apply broader rules to combat those acting in bad faith or otherwise seeking to inflict harm.
Designs should not place the implication of violent wounds on the hatchling.
The same rules regarding wounds as adult dragons are applied with the following additions: No exposed bones and no gore outside the limits of official Flight Rising genes and eye types.
In addition, scars on hatchlings will be scrutinized to a greater degree than those on adult dragons for implied violence and/or abuse.
Please note: Prosthetics, mobility aids, and disability aids do not violate this rule.

Designs and their titles/names should adhere to these rules without additional context.
"Skinned Hatchling" and similar may be okay as social media or forum-based meta jokes, they're not okay as actual design names or titles.

So, like expected stuff like frills, bonnets, ribbons and cute dresses will be ok. Stockings will not be, which I understand. They've also altered the scar thing quite a bit and now it's much more similar to the 'no suffering' rule applied to adults.
I know this is a tired subject but it baffles me to no end still how controversial it is on the very same site where the community will throw a fit if you don't agree with their sacred "your dragon your rules" policy.
It's already annoying enough when someone complains about a dragon they sold themselves getting flipped, but when players admit to outright stalking others and their dragon sales just to point out that they're flipping as if that's wrong somehow is disturbing. And I'm talking about legitimate dragon purchases, not players who scam newbies, or players who exploit free dragons threads, in case that needs to be clarified.

Are you sure these are the same people? I believe both of these are fine.
Also if people are messaging others about that or making threads I think it should be pointed out to mods the same as someone calling out people for doing what they want with dragons that were paid for.

What flights have a more adult community like Earth? I like Earth's community but I've been thinking of switching for a good while now and I'd like a flight that has that same sort of vibe. I've heard Lightning might be a candidate? Just not particularly big on their aesthetic. Dig Fire's aesthetic but I've also heard they don't really have much of a community? And zero dom presence whatsoever
