lord help me someone in my periphery is sharing long conspiracy theory diatribes about how staff actually planned for this backlash and it's some sort of PR move because they expected a community that is "so quick to deem things problematic" to call them out and itd make staff look good and "unproblematic" to crack down on them with this. like this was all calculated. lol
that sounds insufferable. i'm so sorry. i'm pretty sure staff would love to use their work week hours on something other than pre-preparing a counterattack on userbase outrage, and i hope that person in your periphery relaxes.
