how long do yall think a report for AI art will take for staff to see it? there are two newish hatcheries with clearly AI banners

I saw a saltmine post about that. I have to say, some of those people over there are morons.

Why do people think ai art users deserve the opportunity to harass users that report them bygiving warning?

The problem is, I see more AI art users get hostile when called on it than the opposite.

If it's an honest mistake, it just gets removed and they get told not to use it again. No harm no foul, no sticking your neck out.

Also, figured story time might help. Wow player. Had a guildy with a pet with an inappropriate name I commented on being a rule violation. It was renamed the next day to Spot with a strike on his account after he was shitty with me all night about it and kept the name.

Over 5 years later, any time an inappropriate name gets actioned, he still blames me.

I tried to play nice, look where it got me.

I don't understand why some people have such genuine hostility from those who use the tumblr drama blogs. Lumping them all in as idiots is pretty weird because I'm sure they could certainly say the same about a lot of us who use this place too, especially with attitudes like yours

They're naive as fuck. Also, telling people to break the rules by mini-modding via dms is not a great look either.

I mean if that's how you feel about them there's no point in me arguing with you about it. At the end of the day some people just genuinely don't know etiquette and want to be courteous to those users who accidentally use AI; some of those people turn to tumblr to ask other users what they'd do. While I, and many others, know it is fair to just report them because first offenders just get a warning and the ones who are just stupid and use AI purposefully will have action taken against them; not everyone knows and is worried about the consequences of their actions.

A lot of anxious people online just want to be certain the action they are taking is right and ridiculing people who are trying to learn is kinda pointless. This is especially the case in the day and age of technology we are in where it's increasingly difficult to see intent behind people's messages online for some.

According to a some folks on SMR, the mods here are big meanies that are cultivating a FR version of kïwïfärms* or 4chan (And it's clear they've never actively visited either site).

Also it's SMR that usually has bigger groups harassing folks on FR. (note they don't have a rule that ARR has, which is "No harassment/encouraging people to harass others") Folks have literally been driven off FR over stupid shit on SMR.

Not saying ARR is perfect, but tumblr just has a ridiculously stupid mob mentality and no reading comprehension whatsoever.

*added umlauts to prevent it from showing up in search engines, idk if dreamwidth shows up in results, but better safe than sorry, bc that site has folks on it that genuinely should be considered murderers for the suicides they've encouraged their targets to commit.

That can't speak for everyone though. Just because there are some assholes that are part of SMR doesn't make them all idiots, that was my main point. I'm not saying they don't have any bad actors or anything but both sides ridiculing each other doesn't really help at all.

As a note: you also assumed I was calling them all idiots. I only was calling the ones saying "No, you shouldn't report them without a warning." such. But it wasn't worth it to clarify that with howyou replies.

I don't think your hostility towards me is very necessary lol but I am sorry for misreading your words. My brain scrambled them up so I took it as you saying everyone and that's my bad. I still think lumping a large group together like that is wrong but let's just drop this because it's sort of a pointless circular discussion

frankly the goofiest part about ALL of these conversations is the way in which people keep pretending like smr and arr regulars are two totally separate groups of people

like. it's not like i'm under the impression that the venn diagram is a circle or anything but. folks the calls are coming from inside the house.

Lol very true, as someone who is more-so on here and lurks there I consider myself more of an ARR user than SMR but yeah lots of users are on both.

There kind of are two separate groups- I know some of the SMR regulars don't use ARR bc they don't like DW's layout/can't follow the threads, and some ARR folks have mentioned they don't use tumblr.

They're just not as cut and dry/divided/large as folks say they are.

They will drop names in replies to threads with no proof to serious accusations and get users harassed in one breath and claim we're horrible for naming names in our posts the next when we come up. And often, those are the same users doing it.
