An important update:

Due to a specific person being a complete child, comments are going to be screened by default.

This is only temporary, and I apologize for the inconvenience- this is going to be a pain in the ass for me, too, but multiple people have come forward about fears of doxxing, and this is the only way to make sure any doxxing is contained.

(This basically will force the doxxer to make a DW account to post any doxxing attempts unscreened, and will let me more reliably report them to DW staff/authorities.)

Again, I apologize, and will be working to unscreen comments as fast as possible, but I'm only one person.

(Vasemod has had some personal issues come up, so I am the only mod atm. Please bear with me until this bit of annoyance has passed.)

So Weevil and a few of his friends (at least three of them, Vynne, EternallySacred and TheUltimateOwl) have been banned for targeted harassment of a user related to the purchase of a dragon by Weevil's own admission. Does anyone have any details? Weevil was very actively telling everyone how confusing it was and how he's never done anything like that, but got a response from the mods that (his words) listed everything he'd done that fit that behaviour and he's suddenly resigned to starting a new account without bothering about the old one for a supposedly wrongful ban. Does anyone have details? I don't know any of them and don't know what they might have done, but seeing them all work people up about potentially getting banned "for nothing" is getting annoying.

Wydm "oh my actions have consequences" the action was. buying dragons. If you look at any message from any of these ppl you'll see that nobody was trying to evade any blocks, dragons get sold and resold. they get passed around between friends. wack as hell to pretend that the group was actively evading bans and staff is right here.
a very rich whale accuses a person of block evading and 4 accounts get closed. idk if I were yall I'd be thinking critically about why the fuck that is!! and take it more seriously because if one report is all it takes to get a friend group banned, we must all be fucked.
especially considering Alyxsandre has a long history of vagueing and being shady as hell. and generally being gross
(not one of the banned players but ive spoken to them and seen evidence. this sets a frankly disturbing precedent - that ANYONE can get banned if they happen to obtain a dragon that, at one point, belonged to somebody who had blocked them, even if they didn't know (as several people in this situation didn't)

nayrt I would be very interested to see the other side of the story here.

The interpretation you're giving is based on everything these people are saying being 100% true, which I really, really doubt. It only takes a little critical thinking to go "hm, there's something else here" - including, for example, why Vynne was sent one of the dragons involved as an intermediary for reasons even Vynne supposedly doesn't know.

Alyxsandre does not have any type of influence over the moderation team that leads to a bunch of high spenders getting banned for nothing. A moderation team that's slow at best and outright negligent at worst when it comes to performing actual moderation actions for people being actively malicious on the site (see the recent homophobe debacle), which is why this stands out so much. Does the critical thinking you're talking about not come with considering those things as well?

The biggest conspiracy I can see here is the assumption of guilt on part of one person who seems to genuinely not have known what's going on, but Weevil hasn't done a good job of painting a picture of his own innocence even with the information he's just willingly shared. And he's not really done a good job of implying the innocence of anyone adjacent to it as a result.
