I've really only seen them be rude to people they definitely dislikes like saltmarsh etc. I also just read through like 5 or so pages of their messages and don't see anything glaringly rude. I think it's really just because they are pretty blunt, no emojis for tone or anything but they message pretty normally

Yeah, I don't think they're a bad person but they are blunt. It makes me wary or spooked at times but I know that's just me being sensitive

it is stupid and batmorgue should continue calling it stupid, sh is usually the abbreviation used for self harm, the term shlines is weird
besides who would even abbreviate "lines and shadows" to shlines? shouldn't shadow go after lines? no one says their skin got denied for shadows and lines. we must destroy the term shlines.

DA idk anon, I personally add ‘sch’ and ‘sh’ to the beginning of words regularly for fun. The last thing on my mind when doing that is the self harm acronym. Also lines and shadows… would you rather it be something lol lisha? Shlines falls off the tongue a lot better. I think we’re making mountains out of anthills with this one folks. I’m not in the server so I haven’t seen it first hand, so maybe I don’t know better.

Yea, agreed with the others. Sh standing for self harm is the farthest thing from my mind, especially in context.

Shadow lines. Shlines. It's not that bad. Being rude to people for something that petty is shitty.

the only time i would make the connection to self harm would be if it was in TW format - TW: S/H or something

Ngl anon the last thing I think of when seeing sh is self harm. Unless the message has like a trigger warning I would probably think one of three things: silent hill, should have or same here. I get where you are coming from but usually people only use it like that if they preface with a trigger warning because otherwise they are the asshole imo. Talking about that topic without a trigger is just wrong in the first place.

Kinda blowing this shit outta the water here. And yes people can refer to is as shadows and lines or lines and shadows. No need to "destroy the term" LMAO you are overreacting 1000%

what do you want us to do. spell out "shadows and lines" every single time they're brought up? it's a skinmaking server. it gets brought up a lot. literally every single community out there abbreviates a long term that comes up frequently in the convo
this feels like you yourself have never talked in the server that much or don't make skins so you don't have to use the terminology

fwiw I am not in the skinmaking community and only skim posts regarding it, and it took me only about 5 seconds to figure out what 'shlines' meant in context. It's not deeply arcane jargon.

it's also a relatively established (although intentionally silly) shortening! there are over 600 instances of it being used in the server. (there are some on-site as well but much less)

Does 'self harm' regularly come up in discussions about the skinmaking process, including discussing common denial reasons like Lines & Shadows, in a server for skinmakers?

Um....anon.....did you realize.....that you said "shadow" and as we all know "sh" stands for self harm.....could you not use that kind of language? It's a sadow if you're trying to be sensitive to people who struggle with self harm.
