also, as a footnote: just because a thread is big, staff is known for not making changes even if a suggestion is popular if it would break their morals (like keeping promises) or their idea of game design. see the "Unnamed is Valid" thread which is 164 pages long and has been going for 10 years asking to use unnamed dragons in coli, or the "Coli Camping Screen Issues" thread of 74 pages regarding how inaccessible it is for players with vision issues with staff commenting in 2018 they're discussing how to make it less difficult (with no specifics) and only one update (no apparel/skins on captcha dragons) that didn't resolve the complete problem.

i feel like it is worth noting with these kind of extra-lengthy suggestions threads that usually they are not totally representative of a large number of different users. there are a number of suggestions regulars who will argue endlessly in favor of their personal casus belli, which hugely inflates thread length. (the thread asking for what became eye vials was over 100 pages long because of this. is it unfair for me to personally blame gemajgall for the loss of "matchy g1 primal" as a comparatively attainable "endgame"-style FR goal? yes. do i still regard her with deep irritation? also yes. is she also one of the people inflating the comment count on the y1 items in jox boxes thread? naturally.)
like, don't get me wrong, this one has a lot of support, but i still wanted to offer a bit more context.

Your reply could be put in the dictionary next to 'entitled', well done.
DA, I think you need to look up what entitled means because they are not acting entitled lol
Definitions from Oxford Languages
en·ti·tled
/inˈtīdld,enˈtīdld/
adjective
believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.
"kids who feel so entitled and think the world will revolve around them"
I don't think wanting y1 stuff inherently makes anyone "entitled". They aren't saying that just because they don't have it means they deserve it or that they weren't playing the game so it's not fair it's retired or anything like that. I feel I need to put the word entitled on a very tall shelf so people stop throwing it around willy-nilly whenever someone talks about retired items on FR.
TLDR; wanting and entitled to are NOT the same thing, please stop making them the same thing

SA, What most people argue is that the attainability of these items has become increasingly absurd which is completely fair to argue. As someone who started this game back in 2014, I don't think it's wrong to discuss this as an issue with the current day FR market. I won't get into it myself because I honestly don't care whether they come back or not but I don't think people wanting these items to be more accessible in one way or another makes them entitled.
^^ also, these people in these threads tend to attack people who disagree with it, making people who don't agree with the suggestion less likely to speak up out of fear of this.
DA
You say this, but I've seen people echoing this exact sentiment you say nobody is saying. They've 100% said "I didn't play when it was released, so its not fair its retired" or "I want it, so I should not have to put in effort to get it, I should be able to just get it." So, yeah, some people ARE entitled about it.

They’re saying “I’m frustrated I was gated out of this cool thing due to being too young/not knowing FR existed/not being allowed to sign up by my parents” and “I’m frustrated at having pay the equivalent of $1600 US for a retired item that people have been actively inflating in the market”.
The only people saying “make this cheap/free” that I’ve seen have been people who are making a joking suggestion. “Let’s *really* crash the economy! Light sprites for all!”

AYRT, I never said that nobody is acting entitled, I said THAT person is not acting entitled. I also said wanting doesn't inherently make you entitled, not that no one who is voicing support and wants them isn't being entitled. Throwing around that label just makes it lose all meaning which I think people don't realize and then things like this happen where a simple statement gets turned into entitlement.
Not one place in my message do I say NOBODY. I'm not stupid, I know there are spoiled brats out there who do act entitled for those items but not the person here who just said they want sometime usually unobtainable for newer users.

Same Anon: Hit enter too early.
Neither of those sound entitled to me; they’re legitimately frustrating situations to be in. There’s one or two people ranting, sure, but the vast majority of players who want retired items are venting about it in the appropriate place and then moving on with their day.

"My problem with rereleasing y1 items is I don't think FR players realize it is normally and necessary to have end-game, expensive items."
I just want to point out that i agree but also, you can have end game expensive items if you also rerelease the y1 items, it's not strictly one or the other. As it is now, those items (specifically the light sprite but they're all included tbh) are reaching or have hit "fully impossible for a vast majority of players to get" and that, to me, is what's unfair. You can currently see this with Neopets with them putting end game expensive battle items in their plot prize shop recently and putting in some high value/retired battle dome items in the prize pool for their weekly quest thing. The 1% over there have pitched fits about how now everyone will have these items and putting aside the fact that in the plots case, not everyone will want to choose those things, why is that such a big deal? Almost ALL those items, much like the y1 items, were not just "things to work for" anymore, but waaaaaaaay out of reach even if you DID work for them and frankly i think making them just slightly easier to get is a good thing. I'm all for rereleasing y1 items, they'd just have to do it properly.

Wasnt one of the main reasons we have the Roundsy is to help rerelease y1 stuff?
did you misfire who you replied to or something
Yeah like. How many of those y1 items, even if you could get into the endgame expensive territory are even still in circulation? How many are stuck behind locked or abandoned accounts? How many are being bought up and artificially inflated far beyond what they were worth? How many actually make it into Roundsey for redistribution? How many could you feasibly actually get your hands on?
What is the best way to anon post screenshots? I have them all from the tiny discord server from a year ago.
lmao "hugely inflates"? you do know people can check the actual post count numbers on threads right? gemajgall's only posted on that Y1 joxbox thread twice.
also did you forget gemajgall was the OP of the main eye vial thread and that it's completely normal pvp forum behavior for OPs to respond to other replies on their suggestion threads?
even taking that into account their posts still only made up 16% of that thread. there were nearly 1700 comments on that thread of people frustrated with a frequently requested aesthetic mechanic that was poorly implemented.
but sure they were all gemajgall lol.

seriously. wasn't some grossly rich user wanked on here for buying up any light sprite on the AH that was listed for less than 100kg? just so that they could literally inflate the prices even higher? didn't they also admit they were basically just doing it "because they could/for lulz"?
Yeah I feel like it would be fine to just let Roundsy keep putting more out in a controlled trickle. They aren't pulling those items from staff and staff friend accounts like KS, they're generator new Y1 items for those I believe.
So instead of jox boxes I think just putting more in Roundsy is fine.

using imgur, honestly. also, i recommend getting a web archive of your imgur album in case there's a purge at a later date
i am going to be real with you: i simply dislike gem. i sort of thought the "i am letting myself get sidetracked by my own personal 'bitch eating crackers' beef with this user" part would come off as slightly tongue-in-cheek on its own, but i will just put it out there directly: that is what was happening there, and why i reacted so strenuously from revisiting her profile (to remind myself how gemajgall is spelled) and seeing from her recent posts oh of COURSE gem is all up in that thread too.
(and yes, I do think it is weird to keep relentlessly arguing with people once a thread has become dozens of pages long, particularly when it is combined with similarly endless debates repeated in any other suggestions threads about eyes. but this digression is getting even more out of hand considering I already openly stated my dislike of gem is no longer a rational thing, wheeze.)
my disproportionate dislike of gem notwithstanding, the behavior i am describing is still very much a thing in the suggestions forum, and by no means limited to gemajgall.
like the first anon who replied to me said, it is actually pretty frustrating behavior, since people who go against the grain in "no support"-ing suggestions about making any limited thing less limited will frequently get dogpiled upon speaking up.

I meant the first set of festival familiars/apparel, so sprites yes!
just wanted to add really quick that I am aware that big threads doesn't necessarily mean approval from staff! It just stuck out to me as I can't recall the last time I saw a rerelease thread so filled.
people do get dogpiled on these threads often, which I myself is why I never have posted my no support. I always figured I'd be seen as easy bait considering I have most y1 stuff (and a ks item) and that users would think I'm just being greedy. In reality I just like some stuff being harder to obtain than others. genuinely I miss things retiring
with that being said I appreciate all the replies so far!

Part of the problem with this is FR users have vastly different ideas of what makes something affordable. When eye vials came up I was like, "aw man, 500kt (or less, really) is chump change" while other people were bemoaning how unaffordable it is lol.

I just wanna say that I am so glad I am not the only one who deeply dislikes gemajgall. I cringe every time I am reminded of her existence.

Putting more into Roundsy sounds pretty dope. It's just reconfiguring the prize pool of a system that was already dispensing Y1 stuff to begin with
