i remember something about imp scrolls being generated onto the site, so i did a quick google and this thread comes up: https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/frd/2778985/2
as well as this tumblr post: https://flightless-rising.tumblr.com/post/655091064827461632/made-a-new-flight-rising-iceberg-and-also-wrote-an in which the author writes, "Zeus is an XXX gold g1 permababy imperial that used to belong to user “happywing”.
Their account is now locked because Zeus was created with the use of a duplication glitch on an imperial breed change scroll, which is obviously not allowed (although I’ve heard some people say that the dragon was hacked in altogether). Before the account was locked, people speculated that Zeus was the most valuable dragon on the site, because an XXX g1 imperial is impossibly rare."
if they are innocent and got caught in the crossfire of a duplication glitch, then man that sucks. what about the other g1 imp, though? and all the KS items they traded for?
Warriorjames and Sassa were two confirmed people that bought an imp scroll (duped) and applied it onto dragons. They bought theirs with FR related currency as both had their imps de'imped after the whole ordeal shattered. They were not refunded as far as I know and lost whatever they traded for the scroll(s).
Zeus was not 'hacked in'. If he was, he'd have been exalted (as staff has done so before with non-legit gen 1 imps). The triple gold was born well before the scandal occurred.
A lot of people forget that happy had another gen 1 imperial that was very old and matching their account starting age. So they could have had two scrolls already and got hit with something else entirely to get that ban.
semirelated, but im still pissed that warriorjames, who already owned 15 g1 imps, was allowed to enter the raffle for, and win, another-one with matchy colors and eyes born during the first brightshine, no less. and also unbred, which he ruined. i get that people are allowed to do whatever they want with their dragons but what the fuck
Don't worry, WJ is up to his EYEBALLS in debt because he's ignoring medical bills and spending his college money on imps.
I would not be surprised if he actually considers his "investment" to count as assets he could use to save him from bankruptcy- which I don't doubt will have any financial lawyer laughing his ass out of their office.
(Worked for a bankruptcy lawyer for a year- had a client try to say their World of Warcraft account was an asset to liquidate, and the lawyer had to excuse himself to the break room where we heard HOWLS of laughter.)
Yeah the debt is ridiculous and shouldn't be something anyone should have to worry about but spending thousands of dollars on pixel dragons and dragging himself into that debt isn't..... smart.
Ever think he may have made that whole story up to hide RMT transactions? It's very likely at least one of the deals he made for his most recent imp was of that nature. RMT traders lie like a rug about their activities when the opportunity presents itself.
a majority of Warriorjames' G1 Imperials are Real Money Trades. this was well documented and tracked years ago through chats, screenshots, and cross-site testimony. there was also the website where the owner visited flightrising, offering her G1 imperials for her website's currency. if my memory is right warriorjames was involved with that but flightrising restricted cross-site trades with that adoptable site IF my memory is correct
when i had an Imperial Scroll, Warriorjames personally made an offer to me many years ago asking to speak off site about it. i declined. i also reported him.
due to his trades happening off site and Flight Rising official policy of not stepping in he has not been banned
frankly is the devs really cared they could just ban him without giving a reason, but they don't care enough, they buy probably a buttload of gems so it is good for them
I believe you are talking about Khimeros and its owner, Onyx.
I could be misremembering, but I thought that she went to FR to offer rare/impossible to find items, such as gen 1 imps, to artists to get them to draw assets for Khimeros.
Since I had quit Khimeros by that point I don't know if cross site trading is allowed or not, and it could be something else that you are talking about.
Onyx was hatching a scheme to get people to spend holy matrimony USD on Khimeros currency, to pay for her G1 imps and whatever else KS related or rare entities she was selling. This was essentially a loophole to get people to pay USD to her for her FR stuff, because she's the one that recieves most or all of the RLC earnings from Khimeros.
FR staff eventually had enough of it and banned her not that long ago. Good riddance I heard that was a nasty person to interact with.
To your point, I'm not sure if she was also trying to get art slaves on FR, but there was a rumor going around that she refused to pay artists who made pieces for her Khimeros site. So she has definitely tried to get free labor out of talented people before.
It's interesting because I've heard of someone submitting a screen from a RMT site to the staff and getting someone banned for it, without any onsite proof. They were trying to sell their whole account or something. They do take screens from discords and RMT sites seriously when shit's flying around for USD.
Why WJ seems to be above the law after all these years and all of their scandals is beyond me. He and Shrine essentially scammed the userbase out of hundreds of thousands of gems for that fake raffle they conducted, and they shouldn't have seen the light of day after that.
Just because there was no visible evidence doesn't mean there was no evidence on site.
When there is pictures matching the user's inventory that can be compared to site and they give too many details, it's not unreasonable to act on the evidence.
Not sure how making up stories about his debt would cover up RMT transactions, especially since he said in a forum post he'd spent thousands on his imps as "serious investments."
sometimes, i wish i could get a g1 imp within reason. not because i want one, mind you; just to get DMs asking for it from people like warriorjames and be able to tell them to fuck off within my rights.
i'm curious why staff would leave zeus as an imp if he was scrolled with a dupe, especially when they reverted other players' duped imps? i suppose it could be argued they're locking the account anyway, but it feels strange that they would leave just one duped imp around just 'cause.
