Man, chill. I get that. Normally if an attendant is set to available they're usually active checking. I think it's reasonable to be a little surprised, no reason to sling insults
Tf is "chronically online" about noticing a surprising delay
the entitlement of FR players astounds me sometimes. go do something else for a bit instead of raising your blood pressure over a stranger not accepting your dragons immediately. an hour is nothing
Who said my blood pressure was raised? I was asking a question about how shadow's attendants were holding up because to me it seemed like they were swamped. I don't care about the hour delay, I was curious. I think you guys need to work on not assuming the worst, like actually chill out.
If someone stepped away from attending, they shouldn't be set to available. Unless it's a heated battle, there is no reason for anyone to have to wait for an hour for someone to accept their dragons. This is not impatience. This is standard expectation for sending dragons to another flight. Being set to available or online means that you are actively accepting dragons. If someone steps away, they would set themselves to offline or busy depending on their flight's attending rules.
There are multiple reasons for wanting another flight to accept your dragons quickly. The biggest being that not everyone has a lot of room in their lairs. In order to keep training dragons, some people need to offload the ones they've already trained. It's also easier to check for recording errors when your dragons are freshly recorded instead of a week later when most flights do their ticket check. Not everyone has an extra hour to just sit around and wait for someone to take their dragons.
If a big battle was going on, then yeah, a wait is not uncommon. For a flight that is solo pushing, an hour is pretty long. Seems like in this case there was an error on the spreadsheet, which happens. But the person asking was in no way impatient.
Laugh if you want? You obviously don't understand the problem. It is kind of serious for the flights pushing. A pushing flight wants those dragons. If you get a reputation for being slow to accept dragons, people will send to the other flight during battles. Battles are expensive.
AYRT i have actually seen people be like, "🙄 it's just pixel dragons, why do you care so much" when people make even a mild complaint about some aspect of the game so i genuinely don't understand why people are doubting me here. maybe i'm just dumb and reading this whole conversation wrong. idk.
If an attendant has to leave to do something else, they can set themselves as busy/offline so other people have the expectation that they’re gonna take awhile.
If they’re listed as online, people expect them to pick up dragons timely, within 15-30 minutes or so. This isn’t a ‘chronically online’ thing, it’s part of an attendant’s job. A lot of people lack the lair space and need the dragons gone ASAP, if online attendants are gonna take over an hour then they might as well exalt themselves and train more to make up for the extra PBs/raffles usually pay.
I’ve participated in various PBs/raffles and picking up dragons timely has always been a thing. There’s a few occasions where things take longer than I expected but it’s no big deal just cancelling and redirecting the dragons to another attendant. Then again, I do have the lair space to support it so I can see why the people who don’t would be annoyed.
DA. i do think ppl are chronically online but that has nothing to do with this. no one cares if attendants are set to busy or offline, that's normal! but putting yourself as online when you know you aren't going to be at the computer is rude and annoying.
the expectation for attending is that attendants will take your dragons promptly so you can turn over more dragons with limited lair space, if you had blocked out the next hour or so for coli+TV/podcast or something. if you have to wait an hour, you cannot do that.
if someone is grocery shopping or taking care of other errands, they should be set to offline.
yes, FR is a game and this is all volunteer work but there is already a clear system set up so that people can attend when they are free and set themselves offline if they have IRL shit to do. there's no reason not to do that.
if an attendant had an actual IRL thing pop up so they left without marking themselves offline, that's different, but it would be a rare occurrence and not a recurring complaint.

(Anonymous) 2023-08-14 01:25 pm (UTC)(link)do people who live chronically online really think like this
maybe they stepped away to go grocery shopping... or pick up a kid from school/event/sibling/babysitter/etc... maybe they took their dog for a walk
like wtf is this level of impatience
