the expectation for attending is that attendants will take your dragons promptly so you can turn over more dragons with limited lair space, if you had blocked out the next hour or so for coli+TV/podcast or something. if you have to wait an hour, you cannot do that.
if someone is grocery shopping or taking care of other errands, they should be set to offline.
yes, FR is a game and this is all volunteer work but there is already a clear system set up so that people can attend when they are free and set themselves offline if they have IRL shit to do. there's no reason not to do that.
if an attendant had an actual IRL thing pop up so they left without marking themselves offline, that's different, but it would be a rare occurrence and not a recurring complaint.
