genuine question how bad are you guys suffering right now, I've had a wait time of over an hour now for my dragons to get picked up. this was a crazy time to do a paying raffle
(also please put your spreadsheet link somewhere more visible i keep missing it)
and people say "dom is broken" and some shit, when other flights that are waaay bigger than earth, water and fire can't get their asses up and get enough attendants to timely accept the dragons for the raffles, maybe it is a in-flight problem and not the system stacked against you?
when I sent the past week to ice and earth they where all promptly accepted, shocker no?
personally, i think both things could be true -- that dom is broken, but also player-side issue too
people feel the need to stretch themselves so thin just to win first place in dom, when they don't have the means to do it. the system is hard to work with, but flights are stretching themselves beyond their means, which means everyone is frustrated in the end. its not fun anymore
Yesterday during na morning and afternoon hours we were doing fine. I think we were also fine in the evening. However, it seems like someone had either marked someone else as being available when they weren't actually online or the sheet messed up. Woke up to dom leaders saying to keep an eye out. That might be the cause of your delay.
I sent to someone who was marked as "In Coli" and it took several hours, which was fine for me because I was going to sleep, but usually the busy/queued/coli option means like a 20-30 minute wait so I was wondering if something was up with the spreadsheet.
Man, chill. I get that. Normally if an attendant is set to available they're usually active checking. I think it's reasonable to be a little surprised, no reason to sling insults
Tf is "chronically online" about noticing a surprising delay
the entitlement of FR players astounds me sometimes. go do something else for a bit instead of raising your blood pressure over a stranger not accepting your dragons immediately. an hour is nothing
Who said my blood pressure was raised? I was asking a question about how shadow's attendants were holding up because to me it seemed like they were swamped. I don't care about the hour delay, I was curious. I think you guys need to work on not assuming the worst, like actually chill out.
If someone stepped away from attending, they shouldn't be set to available. Unless it's a heated battle, there is no reason for anyone to have to wait for an hour for someone to accept their dragons. This is not impatience. This is standard expectation for sending dragons to another flight. Being set to available or online means that you are actively accepting dragons. If someone steps away, they would set themselves to offline or busy depending on their flight's attending rules.
There are multiple reasons for wanting another flight to accept your dragons quickly. The biggest being that not everyone has a lot of room in their lairs. In order to keep training dragons, some people need to offload the ones they've already trained. It's also easier to check for recording errors when your dragons are freshly recorded instead of a week later when most flights do their ticket check. Not everyone has an extra hour to just sit around and wait for someone to take their dragons.
If a big battle was going on, then yeah, a wait is not uncommon. For a flight that is solo pushing, an hour is pretty long. Seems like in this case there was an error on the spreadsheet, which happens. But the person asking was in no way impatient.
Laugh if you want? You obviously don't understand the problem. It is kind of serious for the flights pushing. A pushing flight wants those dragons. If you get a reputation for being slow to accept dragons, people will send to the other flight during battles. Battles are expensive.
If an attendant has to leave to do something else, they can set themselves as busy/offline so other people have the expectation that they’re gonna take awhile.
If they’re listed as online, people expect them to pick up dragons timely, within 15-30 minutes or so. This isn’t a ‘chronically online’ thing, it’s part of an attendant’s job. A lot of people lack the lair space and need the dragons gone ASAP, if online attendants are gonna take over an hour then they might as well exalt themselves and train more to make up for the extra PBs/raffles usually pay.
I’ve participated in various PBs/raffles and picking up dragons timely has always been a thing. There’s a few occasions where things take longer than I expected but it’s no big deal just cancelling and redirecting the dragons to another attendant. Then again, I do have the lair space to support it so I can see why the people who don’t would be annoyed.
DA. i do think ppl are chronically online but that has nothing to do with this. no one cares if attendants are set to busy or offline, that's normal! but putting yourself as online when you know you aren't going to be at the computer is rude and annoying.
the expectation for attending is that attendants will take your dragons promptly so you can turn over more dragons with limited lair space, if you had blocked out the next hour or so for coli+TV/podcast or something. if you have to wait an hour, you cannot do that.
if someone is grocery shopping or taking care of other errands, they should be set to offline.
yes, FR is a game and this is all volunteer work but there is already a clear system set up so that people can attend when they are free and set themselves offline if they have IRL shit to do. there's no reason not to do that.
if an attendant had an actual IRL thing pop up so they left without marking themselves offline, that's different, but it would be a rare occurrence and not a recurring complaint.
Hmmm. An hour? Daaaaamn. I am curious though exactly how did it go down?
Like did you just dump them onto one person who claimed to be online according to the spreadsheet and wait there for an hour? Did you ping all the attendants and see who would pick them up first? Did you message other attendants and see if they're able to take any dragons during your hour of waiting? Was there just one attendant, period, and you had no choice but to dump your dragons on them?
This theorethical did you PM/ping other people is what makes me glad my flight hides offline attendans and has a pinglist of raffle hosts to sort issues. If I'm offline, I don't want random pings/PMs about the dragons lol
There were 3 attendants online, all set to active, so I just picked one and sent to them. It was only about 10 dragons. After about an hour and a 1/2 is when I decided to try another one that had freshly come online because I figured I would probably be contributing to a backlog for the other one and I know how stressful that can be.
The new attendant I picked had them taken and registered within 15 minutes, so I really don't know what happened. Possible spreadsheet error or something. Nothing major, I really wasn't in any rush except for not having a lot of spare lair space and wanting it back, but like I said, it made me curious about how slammed Shadow was.

I wanna know OPs deets since there are people out there weird enough to refuse switching attendees for some reason.
