There was even a battle "without" any outside buying (I'd like to say Nature v Plague) but the most memorable thing about it is that I remember buying 6kt fodder on Wednesday.

Nature and Plague didn't order mercs during their battle. They both had OOF raffles. And fodder wasn't 6kt. You might be remembering a different battle.

It's a soft conquest, usually so that there are funds left over for bigger pushes. Water is only having an IF raffle.

idk if id go as far as to say that but at minimum them misclassifying their push this badly is a misuse of dom watch. its literally The Public Dom Plans Thread, OOF people WILL see flights' publicized plans for conquests and get excited and even prep dragons for support. very disappointing all around imo, and id assumed that given their experience they would know what different types of pushes are called are lmfao

Damn if they damned if they don't. Water was criticized in the past for not classifying the internal pumpkin push as conquest because they went hard enough to beat a lightning conquest.

So now anything water plans to go hard on gets labeled soft conquest.

However, if you actually read the dom watch info, it's labeled as conquest with wind. Battles are labeled as conquest vs.

There are two labeled battles: Oct 8 - Oct 14: Fire (Conquest, vs Water), Water (Conquest, vs Fire)
Nov 26 - Dec 2: Light (Conquest, vs Arcane), Arcane (Conquest, vs Light)

I think you may need to place the blame on Dom watch's way of labeling pushes if you're confused, as this was never stated to be a battle anywhere.

tbh I like it when flights label their pushes for 1st as conquest even if they don't have any oof support only so it's clear they're going for first

sucks when you see a push labeled as profit and try to grab 1st but due to skill issue you can't compete with the other flight (which, as turns out, wasn't profiting but rather was going for 1st - conquesting)

ayrt so call it an internal conquest then. internal conquests are not new and clearly state that the push effort is internal-only. it sounds like water should have called both this push and that pumpkin push an internal conquest to clear up any confusion, because almost everyone understands "conquest" as having OOF support in some way.

And as I said, take it up with Dom watch's organizer, who is the one that handles wording on their own schedule.

Also, uh... This isn't new. Plenty of flights conquest without feeding you vultures. The only pushes that always have OOF support are festivals and battles.

what in the world are you talking about calling randos vultures lmao. i was looking forward to an exciting week and the chance to support a flight i like. i could care less about profits, i enjoy the challenge of the level-based badges and knowing that i was a part of an event that now only happens a few times a year.

also why should it be my responsibility, an OOF player, to correct the wording mistakes of dom watch? how would i even KNOW it was a mistake. is it not the responsibility of the dom orgs to make sure their publicly posted plans are correct...??? i'm clearly not the only one who felt misled by this.

it's not a mistake though, DW labeled it as "conquest with" instead of "conquest vs." like the upcoming battle with Fire. water and wind are both competing for first, so it is a conquest, but it's a friendly competition, so it was not labeled as a battle.

also, neither flight was doing storage or building the typical pre-battle hype so idk why people assumed this was going to be some huge thing.

Honestly, I don't believe it was large scale confusion. I think it's a few loud people trying to stir up drama anon since they can act like one person is a crowd.

Maybe not large scale confusion. But there was definitely confusion for more than just a handful of people. If two flights are listed as conquesting, it's a pretty reasonable assumption that they are battling. This should have been listed as a joint profit push in Dom Watch. Even solo conquests usually have a basic public buy. Not everyone is being loud and trying to stir up drama, but I know several people who had leveled and stored fodder in preparation for this week. Beyond the cash grab, which is obviously a factor, battles are few and far between these days - some of us do like to support other flights and get excited for their battles. What is the point of including all of the team picking stuff in Dom Watch if there is no actual way to support either flight?

I'll be honest, I don't believe you. The only people publicly complaining mention fodder, profit, and raffles every single time. If you want level based badges and raffles, those happen monthly with the festivals.

Why should you talk to Dom watch to correct it? Because the vast majority were not confused. Water/wind correctly gave the info, and dom watch formatted it as they felt appropriate. You and a handful of others were confused. Nothing was posted incorrectly. Neither flight announced OOF raffles or buy threads. You assumed it and were wrong.

It's not a them issue. It's the folks interpreting the formatting wrong's job to ask for new formatting. I don't expect folks running a service like dom watch to cater to my needs without knowing there's a problem if I didn't ask.

you can keep telling yourself that. i understand feeling defensive about your dom bank but you're making off-base assumptions. people in this thread have expressed disappointment that this doesn't have level/dragon-based badges with this event, myself included. most flights that conquest outside of their fest pushes offer badges. it's a big reason reason why people participate in pub buys instead of just mercing/AH selling the dragons, which would get them more money anyways. me and many other people enjoy the challenge and getting to keep a badge that shows that achievement. plague in particular is fantastic with this.

we'll have to agree to disagree on the dom lead/dom watch responsibility part here.

and be honest with me nonny, which flight are you in - water or wind?

I could care less, I'm in plague and had my fill of leveling fodder last week, but....
Nothing is stopping the ones claiming to want badges and fun from picking up any of the 4(!) Adopts shops (or all of them) and going wild with their savings.
Also, it seems that the fodder floor is actually rising ever so slightly.

And lastly, some annons say that their disappointment was because of the lack of level badges, but selling fodder was one of the first things mentioned here LMAO.

but buying adopts isnt the same as working your ass off to get badges that prove you worked for it. it's disingenuous to act like a 10kT gacha item is equivalent to a badge that shows you levelled dozens if not hundreds of dragons that week as part of a big event. the challenge, and the memorialization of that challenge, is fun.

If you want money, hold your fodder and the flights will chew through the cheap stuff.
