The active size difference between Shadow, Arcane, Light, & Plague is not very much.
It should be clear that organization and attitude is where the important difference is but that's not nice to bring up so it's easier to just say the dom ratio makes it hard, right? B)
SA Also just to be clear, while I am being sassy about it, I mean this as good news for Shadow/Arcane. It means that they could become more competitive if that is something the community wants, but there needs to be a big effort to experiment, analyze, & improve tactics if that is the case.
You're not taking into account that both Shadow and Arcane are always labelled as "the flights to go if you hate dom" in any thread I've ever seen that asks about differences between flights - so just because the active populations are similar in size, who exactly is making up that population appears to likely be very different. There's big effort and there's the effort needed to involve people who start from "ew dom" position.
Sure, but there's precedent of flights overcoming that (Wind, people used to say the same things and they are awesome now) and what's the alternative? Not try to improve it? Try to make it worse? lol
I just think it's clear that, whatever the plans are over there, it isn't really working and I hope they're trying new things instead of just shrugging and going along with it cause that's not very much fun.
wind is a fairly large flight and known for being "laid-back" but they have a great Dom team that puts a lot of work into making their pushes fun and casual-friendly as well as programs to help on-board/encourage heavier exalters.
for a long time wind wasn't much of a participant in Dom though because they were large and laid-back and weren't really putting a lot of focus on it and that was fine too.
but there's absolutely no reason a flight, any flight, couldn't become at least a moderate dom powerhouse if they want to with the right organization and attitude.
Ice was a powerhouse back in the Elden Days when sheer quantity was what was needed for dom, and back then, Ice was where all the whales were. They literally bought dominance back then.
I think that’s just the thing- the people running arcanedom don’t seem to be interested in that. I think it’s just stuck as seeing itself as the “casual, no wins” flight and a change from that wouldn’t be very welcome
