Spooky Spite

An important update:

Due to a specific person being a complete child, comments are going to be screened by default.

This is only temporary, and I apologize for the inconvenience- this is going to be a pain in the ass for me, too, but multiple people have come forward about fears of doxxing, and this is the only way to make sure any doxxing is contained.

(This basically will force the doxxer to make a DW account to post any doxxing attempts unscreened, and will let me more reliably report them to DW staff/authorities.)

Again, I apologize, and will be working to unscreen comments as fast as possible, but I'm only one person.

(Vasemod has had some personal issues come up, so I am the only mod atm. Please bear with me until this bit of annoyance has passed.)

WIBTA for starving boarded dragons?

(Anonymous) 2023-10-23 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
I rented out some nests, and the renter didn't tell me that they didn't have the space to take all of them back (they took 2 out 10 back).

I have NO idea when they're taking them back- the pairs can't be thrown into hibden, and they have no space in their den because they are just... constantly breeding their pairs.

They sent the pairs with enough food to feed them for the week long nesting, but not enough to feed them for an indefinite amount of time.

Would I be the asshole if I just.... don't feed their dragons and toss them back unfed when they DO claim them?

(I would take a hit to my well fed bonus, but I am limited on coli time, so the stores of food I have are for MY dragons, not their freeloaders who are gonna be in my den for who knows how long.)

Not the asshole. They need to send you food, if they want fed dragons.

NTA. They get the food back that they sent. I get miffed when I do send enough food for the week and then they're returned hungry anyways, but this is a different story.

Re: WIBTA for starving boarded dragons?

NTA. this sounds like it might be a bothersome string of behavior rather than an isolated occurrence, and if that's the case then you'd also be justified in saying you'd rather not continue renting your nests out to this person because of it. feeding dragons, not feeding dragons; it's not terribly important in the scheme of things, so if it was just a little oopsie, that would be no big deal & more NAH territory.

AITA to reject a raffle prize?

(Anonymous) 2023-10-25 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
every once in a while i'll participate in my flight's Dominance team activities. you know, hatch fodder dragons, train them, keep em in your den for a while until it's time to exalt, and get tickets to the in-flight raffle depending on how many dragons you breed or train, and how long you keep trained dragons on standby in your den. i've participated in similar programs for a few different flights across a span of years, and multiple flights have used similar systems for earning tickets to in-flight raffles. you can also purchase tickets for gems or treasure which goes into the flight bank to be used for things like buying trained fodder from out-of-flighters, or providing in-flight players with currency to buy dragons, stuff like that. i've made some donations to flight banks in the past, but usually the tickets i get for in-flight raffles are just the ones i earn by submitting info about the dragon breeding/training/hoarding i'd be doing anyway. all of that to say - i'm not really in it for the prizes. i'm just playing along. and i don't think dom teams should be expected to cough up huge prizes every time they run a push - i think it's nice enough just to compile our numbers together so we can appreciate the combined flight effort, lol.

so my question is - do you consider rejecting a raffle prize to be AH behavior? does it make you feel like your raffle prizes aren't good enough? do you think it's nice, since it gives someone else a chance to win that prize?

if i get pinged to a thread or PMed, i make sure to respond politely, so it's not like i'm just ignoring the fact that my name has been drawn in the list of winners. i just don't want the prize, LOL. AITA?

NAH, but I would like to suggest you just tell the person drawing prizes in the first round you only submit for statistics so they can reroll you when you get picked. Makes it so the round isn't stalled for you.

NAH but i think it is really weird to be submitting onto the spreadsheet to get tickets without actually wanting them. like it seems like a bit of a waste of time but eh you do you.

Re: AITA to reject a raffle prize?

(Anonymous) 2023-10-25 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
yeah, you could just... train and exalt on your own without filling out the spreadsheet?

Re: AITA to reject a raffle prize?

(Anonymous) 2023-10-29 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
TBH i think its better for your flights dom program as a whole to submit to the sheet and deny a prize (as long as you dont hold up the raffle ofc) than not, just because it gives more accurate data on total exalt numbers and how many users are engaged in dom, esp if youre a heavy exalter. plus depending on the flight (i know this is how my flight runs things but idk about others) and type of push its kind of unavoidable if youre doing things like attending/boarding/fodder distribution etc etc

If you're in plague, and use sheet to track badges/progress, you can just let raffle runner know you are in interested in raffle as a whole or in prize you got pulled for, NTA.

Re: AITA to reject a raffle prize?

(Anonymous) 2023-10-26 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
it's not an issue at all. totally okay if you want to contribute numbers without bothering with the raffle. I just recommend letting the raffle runner know first so they know to skip you if you're drawn.

YTA if you're deliberately breaking rules set for the push but like otherwise i don't really see it. people don't have an obligation to support their flight during pushes

AITA if I sell dragons to my own flight in a Dom battle if I don’t care about Dom bonuses, and the in flight payouts/raffle are lower than the public buy? I have no interest in raffle prizes so I want to just make cash, but I’d rather support my own flight than the other flight. Otherwise I’d just sell to the opposite flight. WIBTA?

Re: AITA

(Anonymous) 2023-10-27 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Kind of, because Dom funds are for communal use, so youd be taking some of the funds everyone raised for personal profit. also if attendants notice they won't accept from you and Dom orgs will instruct them not to accept from you.

Re: AITA

(Anonymous) 2023-10-27 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
YTA, however, most flights have programs for stuff like that to keep fodder from going outflight. Ask around your flight to see what programs exist.

Also, that's a great way to get the attendants you use to block you once caught to stop it, and most don't bother to clear sleazeball breaking the rules blocks.

Re: AITA

(Anonymous) 2023-10-27 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
YTA because profiting off your flight during a battle that your flight is involved with is not cool and most flights have programs to keep fodder in-flight during battles.

If you're in Light, the Sunburn during the battle will buy it off you.

Re: AITA

(Anonymous) 2023-10-28 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
Do you mean selling to trainers directly? Or selling to the public buy? If you just want to sell fodder to trainers for an agreed upon price, go for it, or drop them into the flight AH. If you’re sending to the PB, then yeah, YTA. You will get a chance to sell them at a high price the next time a battle happens, or even for the next conquest.

Re: AITA

(Anonymous) 2023-10-28 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I see your point. But then I’d just send to the opposite flight PB for max profits. What should I do, then?

Re: AITA

(Anonymous) 2023-10-29 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
AYRT

Honestly? Sell to trainers, exalt them yourself, and deal with the fact that being part of a team means that this week you don’t make ALL the stonks. Everyone but water and ice got the opportunity to profit a few weeks back, so if you’re in Light or Arcane then you had a chance to make a lot of funds. That’s how dom works - every year or two you have to step back for a week.

Re: AITA

(Anonymous) 2023-10-29 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
guess I’ll just have to sell to the other flight then

Re: AITA

(Anonymous) 2023-10-28 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Most public buys are out-of-flight only, and it’s officially against the rules to send to your own flight. Most attendants don’t immediately check, but you will probably be denied if anybody notices. Your flight’s AH or the realm-wide AH might be better, and less directly AH-ish, IMO.

Re: AITA

(Anonymous) 2023-11-10 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm getting deja vu. We had someone in our flight who made a huge bratty stink about not being allowed to do this sort of thing. Right down to the same kind of arguments.

The consensus from that argument was they were the asshole.

AITA For not having enough slots to print a skin?

(Anonymous) 2023-11-19 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
i just got into UMA making recently and i don't have enough slots to print the 10-print runs yet (haven't spent the gems i've gotten as payment, dw) and i just Feel Bad that i can't print them yet and people signed up for slots :( am i the asshole here or is this a normal occurrence?? (and yes they are aware they will only get printed when i have enough gems to buy the blueprint packs)

(it could be me being Nervous, so there's that)
