An important update:

Due to a specific person being a complete child, comments are going to be screened by default.

This is only temporary, and I apologize for the inconvenience- this is going to be a pain in the ass for me, too, but multiple people have come forward about fears of doxxing, and this is the only way to make sure any doxxing is contained.

(This basically will force the doxxer to make a DW account to post any doxxing attempts unscreened, and will let me more reliably report them to DW staff/authorities.)

Again, I apologize, and will be working to unscreen comments as fast as possible, but I'm only one person.

(Vasemod has had some personal issues come up, so I am the only mod atm. Please bear with me until this bit of annoyance has passed.)

Timeline of this happening based on screenshots provided by OP & dragons in question:
June 2021 - TheWormwood PMs TheOfficialLemon for the dragon (https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/63439391) for a breeding pair. TheOfficialLemon agrees to give it for free as long as they get the first male offspring.
July 2022 - TheOfficialLemon PMs TheWormwood a reminder about the offspring. Apparently no response. Note that the first offspring of the dragon is still not born yet as of this date.
Jan 2023 - The first male offspring of the dragon is born. Apparently chucked into a CR to TheOfficialLemon but was missed.
May 2023 - TheOfficialLemon PMs TheWormwood a reminder about the offspring. TheWormwood replies back with a rather rude response with how the dragon was apparently in CRs since Jan 2023 but was missed.

My thoughts:
How the fuck did this go on for almost 2 years? It also wasn't bred as requested until a whole 1.5 years later. The pair's breeding cooldown is only 30 days too (nocturne+skydancer). Sure, TheOfficialLemon missed the CR when the offspring was born and that's on them, but the reason they gave of it having been buried in their notifications is not unreasonable since it could be buried underneath forum pings among other things in the same place. I find it even more odd that TheWormwood apparently did not PM them about the CR being up, considering how pissed they seemed when replying to TheOfficialLemon's reminder about it. If anything, TheOfficialLemon had more of a reason to be pissed and they weren't even outright rude to them considering how they had to wait 1.5 years for the offspring to even pop. And note that TheWormwood was the one who first approached TheOfficialLemon for a sale. Seriously, if I had to continuously poke and prod someone for MONTHS TO YEARS on something they agreed to, I'd be pissed as hell.

Of course, this could change depending on TheWormwood's side of the story. Please point out if I missed anything.

i think you got it all. i think both users are kind of stupid in this case, even if lemon made a deal that wormwood should have stuck to and *not* been a chode when lemon DM'd after the child was born, but i have to nitpick a little about some parts of the post that makes me raise a brow:

1. this dragon seems to have been important to lemon in the first place and stressed the time/money/effort they put in to get it, so why even consider giving it away for free in the first place? why couldn't lemon have bred a lapis/sandollar/banana from this dragon to give to wormwood instead of this dragon they worked hard to get? the generosity is awesome, but incredibly... naive? iunno man, this was super short sighted.

2. why wait *thirteen whole months* to say something to either wormwood OR staff after the deal wasn't happening? forgetting is one thing, but this was a dragon that - again - lemon stressed twice was worth a lot of investment from them, and they took enough time to keep checking on wormwood's activity and nest to mention in the post that they knew wormwood was active and breeding other pairs. while checking on the activity, why not... send a message? or report the user through Contact Us to let staff know that a deal made on their site didn't take place (they support trade deals made within flight rising, so DM deals would count)? 13 months is a really long time to put this off, and nearly 23 months is INSANE. this is a fault of lemon's as much as it was wormwood's (wormwood is at fault here for taking so much time to get to the breeding for 18 MONTHS).

3. maybe i'm looking into it too closely or just aren't active on site enough to understand, but for a user who claims to be busy on the site yet checks it only once a week and interacts on the forums infinitely less since 2022 started, i can't imagine being such a hive of activity that lemon could miss a CR from january 2023. i know that forum activity doesn't account for other kinds of activity on site like DMs (which has its own category of notifications separate from CR notifications) or coli or what have you, but lemon on inspection only has 7 pages worth of pings in the forums with the first two being the entirety of 2022 and 2023, and only got a whopping 1 ping since 2023 started. it doesn't really add up to me.

I have actually done the first one.

Someone wanted a dragon with specific colors and eye color, and sex, and I had that exact dragon.

It was a gift from my sister, so I didn't want to part with it, so I found someone to rent a nest, found a mate and bred a duplicate, and the other person took the mate and the kids.

So, yeah, I don't understand Lemon at all here.

1. It seems like they just needed a dragon with those colors and TheWormwood has the mate (seems to be why they contacted TheOfficialLemon about it in the first place) and could breed an exact duplicate with it. I guess TheOfficialLemon was assuming that TheWormwood was closing the deal in good faith, but they could’ve easily avoided this whole thing by just ignoring their PM request.

2. No idea why they didn’t message them earlier and really that’s on TheOfficialLemon here I’d agree. But also I’d expect someone coming in with good faith who has received their end of the deal to actually follow up on it instead of having the other person badger them? Idk, it feels extremely gross to have to chase down someone for something, even if you’re entitled to it as agreed earlier so I could see why they’d put off contacting. As someone who used to play another petsite with IOU-type deals being common due to the nature of trading, doing that feels like an awful debt-collector job lol. They should’ve involved staff after contacting them ASAP and receiving no response but I don’t know if they even know of the last part of the dragon ownership rule. It seemed like a clearcut case of a bad faith trade at that point from the PMs shown.

3. Afaik the things in the same notifications bell as CRs include trading post alerts, AH listings (these 2 are pinned to the top), profile comments, forum subscriptions along with forum pings. It could be possible that they have forum subs clogging up their notifs and/or pings from snipped pinglists which both don’t show up in profile but idk, I’m not them. Unlike PMs which only show up as read once you click into a specific PM, notifs stop showing up as unread once you click the bell. I don’t think CRs are one of the notifs that get pinned to the top either but I could be wrong. CRs are doodoo anyway and I don’t understand why you wouldn’t just 1t PA something you were gonna put in a 1-way CR, especially something that you’re rushing to get out of your lair.

Can’t really say anything conclusive until we got TheWormwood’s side of the story but it looks like a case of helping someone out and getting shat on right now. I do wonder if this is the only person TheWormwood did this to. They run a hatchery that have a number of breeding pairs and people on their pinglists, although I don’t know if theirs is considered popular as far as hatcheries go. I wouldn’t be surprised if they contacted a number of people for pairs like that and a few opted for having a baby in the future instead of money.

I really do not think that this would or should be considered a bad faith trade.

Staff have always been very clear and consistent that your ownership of a dragon ends the second it leaves your account. Lemon asked for a non tangible payment that could only be provided once the dragon left their account. They no longer had control over whether or not that dragon was bred. If Lemon wanted guaranteed reimbursement for this dragon, they should have gone about it in the appropriate ways.

It would be ridiculous for staff to get involved and potentially punish Wormwood. Even if the PMs are on site I would be very surprised if they responded to Lemon in any other way besides 'once a dragon leaves your account it is no longer yours'.

It sucks when you lose dragons because of nest rentals or dragon lending, but if you're going to do these things you need to accept that staff have been very clear that they won't intervene.

Well, staff does have it in the books that taking dragons from rescues and the like repeatedly as fodder is a punishable offense for poor faith trading even though the dragon left your account. The "not on your account, not your dragon" rule has wiggle room. I don't know if they'd wiggle on this, but there is written in the rules one area of wiggle.

In this case, everyone sucks, and this dude needs to shut up though.

I'm sorry but if you made the choice to give someone a dragon FOR FREE with the expectation that they will fulfill a promise that they don't have to, that's on you.

Checking up on this other user for two years is crazy, and I do not blame Wormwood for blocking them. I don't blame Lemon for being disappointed, but they have no idea why Wormwood didn't immediately follow up. Personally? If I forgot that I was supposed to do something or if something happened IRL and I couldn't play for a while, and I come back to multiple messages from the same person over the course of 2 years? I'm going to feel a whole lot less inclined to be nice or interact with them.

Makes Lemon all the more a bigger asshole for going on Tumblr to directly call out them out, too. It would be one thing if they just briefly vented about being disappointed things didn't work out the way they wanted to without mentioning names or specifics.

Hmm.. One thought I just had is that can we really trust Lemon to be truthful about not getting a ping or a PM from Wormwood?

As stated in a different comment, it doesn't seem as if Lemon is all that active, so not sure how truthful they are about notification activity to miss a CR. So, maybe they DID get a PM but deleted it by accident?

That could be why theWormwood was rude in the PM, because they had set up the CR and messaged Lemon?
