An important update:

Due to a specific person being a complete child, comments are going to be screened by default.

This is only temporary, and I apologize for the inconvenience- this is going to be a pain in the ass for me, too, but multiple people have come forward about fears of doxxing, and this is the only way to make sure any doxxing is contained.

(This basically will force the doxxer to make a DW account to post any doxxing attempts unscreened, and will let me more reliably report them to DW staff/authorities.)

Again, I apologize, and will be working to unscreen comments as fast as possible, but I'm only one person.

(Vasemod has had some personal issues come up, so I am the only mod atm. Please bear with me until this bit of annoyance has passed.)

See how many people were gleefully cheering on the idea of Alyx getting banned because they don't like her.

It's too easy for the internet mob at large to go from "I want this person banned." to "Let's make this happen by faking offsite crimes because they deserve it because we don't like them."

lots of drama about this, SMR alleging that lightdom didn't bring up OOF boarding to arcanedom before launching but there's no proof of that.

what's your takes? personally i think arcane is being a little wild. i don't think it's normal to negotiate when OOF boarding opens and they knew the dom team they were signing on to fight, not surprised lightdom is on it

Is that something it’s normal to negotiate for? I’m still very unfamiliar with the ins and outs of dom. If it is, then my sympathies with Arcane, but if not I’m not sure why they didn’t expect preboarding to be opened six weeks in advance. That’s about when ice got started.

I expect arcane will be getting the underdog support, but even with that they’re going to have to tighten up their organizational game or they’re going to get steamrolled. Light’s a big flight and they’re in the top three almost as often as earth even when not officially pushing.

its kind of a nice olive branch to have them ready in tandem though, and speaks to some level of non-communication (on either/both light and arcane) that they didn't plan to have them ready for the same dom watch week. not a crime by any means and without any other details i dont think its worth reading too deep into it, but it would have been nice for both flights to have posted their OOFB info on the same week. just feels a bit sloppy.

that being said it is deeply funny to see light do this just months after beating lightning to the punch on dom watch for their own fest push and then making a fuss when people talked about it LOL

Actually, considering I've always seen them started the same week for both sides in a battle, I'm pretty sure it is usually negotiated and planned together.

I do not think it's unreasonable to have discussed this, nor do I feel Arcane wrong for being sore at the side with the advantage getting the drop on them in this way. But everyone needs to chill

Cuz I'd feel insanely guilty spending money that isn't mine! it was entrusted to me by the people of my flight to be held collectively until it can be used for everyone's benefit. I have never ever been tempted to spend it bc ultimately it's fake money and stealing fake money is not worth the real disappointment and feelings of betrayal my flight members would feel.

this is correct, the temptation is just not there at all for me, the same way gambling for real money actively repulses me (don't worry, i have other vices). either you have the personality for it or you don't.

DA 6 weeks is pretty early for boarding so I'm not surprised or concerned Arcane isn't starting yet, but anyone who is upset that Light didn't bring it up needs to get over it because there's no obligation to do so. Part of battle tactics is being prepared, getting an early start on stuff, and even figuring out what to bring up during negotiations - if you want to agree on a boarding date then you bring it up, and if not, you prepare to get the jump on the other flight or at least start the same week.

Considering that Arcane's dom team forgot about a whole push earlier, I'm not even surprised lmao. Meanwhile, an individual (frostmeri) not in the dom team had been buying boarding slots way before anyone opened OOF boarding and carrying the whole of Arcane on their backs.

I decided to be nice as I have a lot of space in my lair that I don't always use.

So I leant some of it out for a mass egg hatch and yeah, 1k or whatever amount eggs to hatch is a lot and plenty of people were nice enough to loan out space for them all.

But it has taken 3 months.

We are doing this for free, I don't expect anything but now they are asking people to help price the dragons and of course it's a shet show since some are asking for payment for their services and others aren't.

I really don't care but I am sick of these dragons in my lair now and they are eating all my plants. I have a specific amount I like to be above and each day it goes below that, making me stressed..silly I know.

I am close to exalting them and leaving the discord.

I'm never loaning out free lair space again.

yes it would, it would also make you a bad person, the money does not belong to you, so you would steal it and that would be considered a dick move

and don't @ me with that "its just stupid dragon fake money" shit, people have invested time in accumulating that money and giving it to the dom bank for save keeping, the money is as real as you would do any other task with your own time

+1, as a former dom team lead with several battles under my belt as far as I remember at best we discussed how we're doing OOF support (whether we have certain events or not) but the decisions weren't that detailed, like when we're opening or what badges, tickets or other incentives we're offering.

Honestly, I'd ask for some compensation in food, or a flat fee to pay to replace the food the squatters have eaten.

I'd prod them (not so gently) and say "When are you taking these dragons back? I want a date/time to send them back, or some kind of compensation for my time and food."

If they waffle on you? Refuse to send any of them back for less than fodder price. No one would blame you, and staff won't do anything about it because once a dragon leaves your lair... it's not yours anymore, so technically, those dragons are yours.

I certainly wouldn't be doing a callout or such about you because you're the one who took the time providing a free service, and they're the ones taking advantage.

Tell em to pony up or cut their losses. It was supposed to be temporary, and three months is ridiculous.

(Especially if this is about AoiNoRyuu, because if so, you're not the only one they're taking advantage of. I was waiting for an auction for one of their doubles, but even my love of a certain XX color isn't enough for me to ignore how badly they've been treating the folks who volunteered to help them.)

Yep, while I wasn't thinking of Alyx specifically, there have been a number of people who have, both on site and off, become the targets of various levels of dislike/harassment.

There have been people who have made screenshots of discords where they cut out certain parts to make things look worse than they are, where the summaries of those screenshots would use as inflammatory language as possible (a two line disagreement would become a full blown argument according to the summary) to make people go into the screenshots sympathizing with one party or the other.

So, I am definitely glad that FR doesn't ban for offsite things, even though when things are truly bad, it can suck a bit.

AYRT I think Lightdom is just really keen on getting things done tbh and especially in this instance, I don't feel they've done anything wrong.

Another submission came into SMR stating that an Arcanedom member told Light "after WvI", Light took it and got ready, and apparently that was not an official agreement among Arcane's dom team.

So.....Lightdom being critiqued for Arcanedom, again, being incompetent.

DA yeah I'm completely baffled why Arcane agreed to this, same way I'm shocked Shadow agreed to fight Ice.

If this is about the cheapskate that ran a 1000 egg mass hatch, my advice: contact them both on and off site privately with an ultimatum.(on site to give yourself a paper trail so they can't claim scam.)

Tell them them have this much time to get these dragons out of your lair(probably 1-2 weeks.) before they become your dragons.

At the end of the time, do not exalt them. Sell them yourself. Do not call the user out. Just remove all things labeling them part of the hatch, put em in a tab and say you are looking for offers on the forums.

There are buyers interested in dragons from the hatching that refuse to deal with the user after how much of an ass they've been. Not sure if you have any of the doubles, but you could probably make up for your time and food if you have any nice ones.

Technically, you could just say my dragons now at this point, that was being nice. But if you go the mine now route, it may lead to annoying drama.

To be clear, I don’t think Arcane’s going to be a rollover opponent. They seemed to be very much on top of Starfall prep and have some very formidable foddartists. If they can bring the same energy to LvA it’s going to be a proper fight. But they do have to reckon with the fact that they’re going up against a pretty well-oiled dom team. I hope they can rise to the challenge!

DA - I don't see anything about a Shadow v Ice battle in dom watch, Ice literally just battled Water?

DA Wait hold up, there's a Shadow vs Ice happening in the future or did I miss that earlier this year?

from what i've heard, arcane was the one who approached light for the battle in the first place. you'd think if that was the case they'd be even more prepared, since it was their idea?
