I used to do dom organization years ago, and was put into a similar situation. The user who insisted on doing the oof raffle entirely solo disappeared (went on vacation without mentioning it) a few days before and left nothing but the sheet with the prizes done. When it was clear they weren't going to show, a few others and I scrambled to do the entire thing the night the raffle should've went up. We got it done and it turned out alright, but it was incredibly stressful and soured my feelings on dom stuff.
Anyway, point being, please take your time and don't worry about randos online being pushy about it. The situation you're in is horrible and not something you could plan for, and at the end of the day this is just a game we're all supposed to have fun with. Not to sound like an asshole, I’m just really curious. Why was 1 person even allowed to run something as big and overall most important in the push solo? It just seems like a terrible idea in general, not even counting natural disasters as outlined in your case. Like they just up and ghosted for a vacation of all things without telling anyone? I hope they aren’t in the dom team anymore for that stunt...
My crew and I were newish after a bunch of other stuff changed the majority of the dom team, with the raffle org being from the old team. It wasn't our first push organization in general, but it was our first holiday.
Basically they always handled the holiday raffle in prior years and there was never a problem. They insisted and we didn't want to argue with them, but yeah terrible idea on my part. This was years ago by now (2017?), and I'm willing to admit I wasn't the best at handling things and made some shitty moves myself, but I still can't help but get salty about it sometimes lol.
I don't know what event changed the majority of your dom team but it honestly sounds like an attempt to discredit your crew which was new to OOF folks. With the insistence and all. Dom team politics suck.
Duchess is the point of contact for most of the Dom things. A lot of new people are uncertain about reaching out because in the past it has ended badly on fire's side. Duchess hasn't joined the fire only Discord due to the fact she isn't the one in charge of it. She runs our discord too. She just hasn't been reliable for a long time.
