I don't see why they don't just have the Treasure Marketplace genes trade for two of the equivalent Ancient gene.

NAYRT but why not just put them in the grand exchange shop for 1 copy of the gene + half the treasure cost of the normal gene

so for example a modern gene that's 150k would trade for the ancient version of that + 75k treasure

Ancient gene scrolls are half the price of modern gene scrolls. Going with this suggestion means people will be paying double than they had previously.

I won't be opposed to GlassGloss giving us 75k + ancient gene in exchange for one copy of the modern variant though.
