its bonkers how so many people are bringing up "accessibility" as a criticism against sandsurge being a gem breed. im almost convinced that theyre seeing the dev's efforts to make the site more accessible for screenreaders and trying to latch onto that as a buzzword for criticism. because being able to actually fucking navigate a site is the same as getting a valuable thing on release day, right right right.....

not to even start on how its only 1kg, how we havent had many gem releases at all this year, and how people have had months to save up :/

Yeah and new breeds eventually converge to fodder prices in a few months anyway. Bringing up 'accessibility' as an argument for this is just disingenuous and a spit in the faces of people who actually need accessibility features.

I'm hoping that the people complaining are just immature kids but fuck I wouldn't be surprised if they're actually adults bc the amount of adults that act this way on FR is sadly greater than it should be...

I love(hate) how some users are using memory issues as an excuse, how not everybody watches the streams or how apparently Veils, that used the same tactic, came 3 years ago and stuff.

Also someone just mentioned "paywalled content" and I want to scream.

Thank you, fr userbase for making people with disabilities look like winning children.

Never underestimate the ability of an entitled and healthy FR user to make up disability-related strughles or come up with the most ridiculous excuses to claim ableism just to get their way and make the game more convenient for them. I've never seen it get this bad anywhere else on the internet to the point where I have to be embarrassed for being autistic and having genuine sensory processing issues.

Sadly, I doubt it has anything to do with the developers trying to make things more accessible and more to do with the idea that there is a portion of the userbase that uses the word 'accessiblity' as a weapon.

IE, they will use it, and thus any sort of criticism against their idea is now 'ableist'.

I have seen it in the suggestions forum, where people will argue for having the site basically hand out thousands of treasure a day without the users doing anything (and not just bond all buttons) and call it an 'accessiblity' issue that there is some effort needed to put into the game.

This then results in true accessiblity issues being taken less seriously, because people get so used to accessible being used interchangably with easy.
