Edit 2/1/2023: A new small guideline that has been added to the rules- please include direct links to profiles, especially if the user in question is being shady, since they go 'invisible' when FR locks/bans them.

(It's not mandatory, but it helps folks get those juicy details.)

I thought they legally had to wipe the name due to the law or something, not so the player could use the name again but I may be mistaken.

It could be a bit of both.

I am not sure whether it is a legal requirement, but more general guideline because under 13s could be more likely to use their real name or real life identifying info as their UN/post on their bios, so it may be general practice to just wipe the account in order to prevent the ones who do this.

It just also happens to free up that UN for someone to use if they want to (not necessarily the same person.)

I'll be honest, it's hard to tell, and the user didn't mention being under age. But would they?

If they were trying to garner sympathy over getting banned because of an ‘unused alt’ they allegedly didn’t touch in years, I doubt they’d admit to knowingly breaking the rules and joining under 13. They might not have known alts were against the rules at first, but the sites pretty clear you have to be 13 to join from the start.

Alternatively, maybe they did originally get banned for multi accounting, and staff found out after the fact they weren’t 13 so just cleared the name then. I could see someone sending in a ticket or something after and being like ‘I was only 12, I didn’t know better’ in regards to making an alt because they didn’t think it would matter if they were over 13 now.

Only staff knows for sure, and unless we get another finaldrakenstar situation, they’re not gonna publicly say what a user is banned for.

ugh, FDS. it was kinda funny at first but they were incredibly cowardly and scummy to make such a barefaced lie about why you were banned and rally the entire community up.

what would that even do other than incite even more drama and vitriol. like the 2 or 3 times where it would be funny absolutely do not outweigh the inevitable harassment towards other players and mods. FR staff dont ban people because they like being petty haters, banning a potentially paying player has a negative impact on their finances and its done to ensure social standards and/or gameplay integrity/equality. its seriously so easy to move the fuck on when you find out someone got banned and not circlejerk over if one particular mod did it or not

We have no right to know. The only time staff of any site or service should reveal that is for the liars causing problems like FDS.

Transparency just leads to busybodies being involved in other peoples' business.

I have no idea why people on the internet always feel so entitled to things like this. All it's for is drama. It's not in the name of "transparency". You don't need to know why someone was banned, it isn't your business? Everyone is getting way too used to the admins good-will and keep asking for more than they're entitled to.

i realize that fr users are extremely guilty of entitlement from staff, these people would go above and beyond
