Hey.

Edit 2/1/2023: A new small guideline that has been added to the rules- please include direct links to profiles, especially if the user in question is being shady, since they go 'invisible' when FR locks/bans them.

(It's not mandatory, but it helps folks get those juicy details.)

I don't think Fire versus Lightning was a planned battle. Lightning does have a track record of throwing conquest pushes out without asking.

Water and fire is a formal scheduled battle. I doubt fire is going for two battles in a single year.

I sadly have no friends in fire to confirm what's happening with them and lightning, but as a droplet, I can confirm ours is a real battle.

other way around afaik, lightnings march conquest has been public on dom watch since early december. not sure what's going on with fire's dom planning

Fair enough. Honestly, it that case, if I were fire, I'd move weeks.

I assumed lightning did it because they have done it before. Fire hasn't.

yeah, i'm interested to see how this pans out but i'm also assuming fire's going to move weeks. a public conquest/internal conquest battle isn't impossible but it's kind of the worst of both worlds. considering how abysmal fire's planning for their own fest push this summer was, there's a nonzero chance they just didn't check the public pushes before planning their conquest.

Water beat lightning trying to do it for our internal pumpkin push one year, but it was a pain in the ass.

"Fire hasn't" they done it twice to shadow in the past *at least* that I'm aware of (don't remember specifics as it was awhile ago and I'm not as active in dom anymore but I remember the fall out for fire)

Same person. I just remembered after hitting post. Both times Shadow had a battle announced well in advance and had 0 competition and fire swooped in out of no where a week or two before with 0 word to the shadow don leads. I like a good battle. I don't like a battle that's dropped on our heads a week or two before with no words or communication from the opposing team.

Ah. Okay, I hadn't heard any mention of it, but sometimes this stuff goes under the radar. Appreciate the information.

And I understand how much it sucks. Lightning tried to steal water's annual fall push with no warning and turned it into an unplanned and unwelcome battle not long after after water vs earth

yeah and apologies if I may have come off as rude in anyway, I forget that not everyone was around or remembers those times(its been a few years a least since I haven't been active in dom in at least 2 and this happened before that) but any reminder of that always rubs me the wrong way just cause of the drama surrounding it. I would give more info if I could but its been so long and I've mostly stopped playing outside of festivals so my memory is just garage :') The only thing I think I can confidently state is I'm fairly certain both times it was Shadow's mother day push which, yeah we have no claim to that even though it's a thing we do yearly, any of the other flights with a female deity could always push. Its just that both times Fire announced like a week or so before with 0 contact with shadow orgs from my understanding. And I think one year it ended with us in second place no matter how hard we tried because we just...were not prepared for a battle at all, not with that size difference. (and I think that year was the first year I was getting into dom and was like my second time doing a push so like...super demoralizing)

It was aggressive, but I'm not too upset about it. I honestly forgot about that mess, and now that you clarified, oh yea, I remember the drama now

also that's not really a fair matchup! funny how they never do that to plague or light...

said this in another thread but according to fire dom heads, this was asked about in advance and okayed with the lightning dom heads

It’s what they said at least, although if they’re lying about it that’s pretty suspect.

Ping of the dates went out 1/27 and someone asked about it conflicting with Lightning, which got a response 1/28 stating they’d been in contact.

(Not necessarily vouching for the dom heads here, just saying what I know)
