I lost my well-fed bonus last night (my own fault, I generally skate too close to the edge, but I didn't realize quite how close to the edge I was when I deposited a 41-energy dragon into the HD, lol). But no big deal, figured I'd miss a couple days, has happened before. Made sure my level was up to 82% before rollover anyway.
After rollover, 80% as normal...but my bonus bar is full again. Was there a grace period introduced recently that I'm not aware of? Was losing it in the first place some kind of error that was fixed? I don't see anyone else on-site talking about having something similar happen recently. Grateful, of course, but curious!

i think i just saw what you meant, anon. i left my dailies to the literal last minutes and my % bar was at 82%, but when i logged in again a few hours later, it was at 98%. i don't know if something changed but i really appreciate whatever the site is doing with that

Why the hell are people on SMR so fucking obsessed over this ID verification shit? There are risks on both sides! It's a dead horse, for the love of god why do SMR users keep beating it?? Literally no where but this one drama blog have I seen this issue get dragged through the mud so much. There is no winning.

I mean, they don't know the real name, and that should absolutely be blocked out, so what is to say they don't grab their mother's or father's ID card, block everything out but the age, and they are now 18+

I know there are accessibility (and gaming probably) programs that allow you to map a specific spot on your screen to a specific keypress, 'clicking' that spot as if you'd clicked it with your mouse.
The most obvious use for this would be the %^#$%# fight on button in the coli, but would be nice for the two-window method of fam bonding too.

personally, I use an external autoclicker program to bond with my familiars.
all it does is exactly what you said : the two tab method, and the mouse simply helps click between the pages and buttons. since there is nothing in that program that is -directly requesting from the server-, and the mouse still has to do the annoying task of moving manually to click, it should be fine. I can do literally nothing else with my PC for a whole hour when it is happening, because my mouse is being used.
in my (zero professional) opinion, as long as the program
1) is -not- installed in anyway in your -browser-;
2) -does not request anything directly- from the server;
3) manual action is still required;
it should be alright to use.
i emphasize points 1 and 2 the most because the admins can tell if there is a script on your browser that is altering the way the site is being used (eg : the one time i used a bond all button (that clearly requests a ton in one go from the server), forgot about it for a few days, and got banned for 3 days)
...though i remember something pre-captcha that the admins would look into an acc if they were doing something like, idk, coli-ing for 12 hours straight without a single break. but since you would still have to do manual input to get rid of that captcha, and keys are being "pressed" to make the coli actions happen, it should be good.

:( my biggest wish for the last 9 years has been for FR to add commas to numbers. i cant parse them and have to paste into notepad and add commas myself

orchid is a really good color to work with for projects if you like blue or purple, because it goes so batshit in some genes. I've got a couple of orchids. I really love pymorph orchid but I havent checked out the newer genes with it yet

Guesses as to whether it will be possible to get both fest currency and event currency from a given action?
I'm expecting it to be starfall currency only, bc a. that would presumably be simpler to code in than having to account for separate drop tables and b. having the deadline to get pirate event currency effectively be several days before the deadline to exchange it with zero warning beforehand would be a very FR thing to do

Given that FR took down/changed the name (can't remember) of the skin several years ago that was named "Plague of Madness" after an episode of the cartoon Primal and was visually very similar to a character in that show, are they going to do anything about the "Ceaseless Watcher" skin? That phrase is from the podcast The Magnus Archives and the skin's patterns look similar to The Eye, though simple drawings of eyes all more or less look alike. I can't remember what FR's policies about other media are or how strictly they're enforced
Is there an official design of The Eye? I'm not familiar enough with the podcast. That phrase and if it is just an eye probably isn't enough unless the design matches something official heavily.

It shouldn't break, seeing as it appears they're just shifting the shape of how it's encapsulated.
A lot in their post makes it look like it's a gag, which ordinarily I would just take as the theme, but also there haven't been any attendants when I've checked between rollover and now.
