JT? Does anyone have a brief TL;DR or link to what happened, I keep seeing people talk about this person and I have no idea what they did. I assume they were a Lightning dom admin but that's all I've got.

I don't know the story well enough to give you a TL;DR but I think there were some stories about him on the old comm.?

Welp, this isn't really brief, but I put together a summary with some links because there was a lot of stuff spanning more than a year. There's probably more I didn't cover, but this is about all the time I had free to poke through old AR posts so here we go.

JT, also called JT/JS because they were originally JonTargaryen and now JonSnOwO, is a user who basically ruined Lightning dom by being annoying and shady, switched to Plague and ruined their dom, and thankfully isn't very active anymore.

It started with him constantly making fundraising posts for Lightning in dom watch threads. People were annoyed by this because some felt that it wasn't the purpose of DW. There was some other shadiness too.

He didn't take criticism very well, and ended up doing kind of a "I quit" "No, you're fired" with the rest of Lightning dom. Then he moved to Plague. In short order he was on their dom team. Raffle shadiness continued.

The funny RoR raffle drama: they left their spreadsheet unlocked and got mad when someone edited it. This thread is huge wow

The truly incredible RoR drama: there was a shitstorm when a banwave caught Plague's raffle runner in the middle of a dom push. KyraG, one of the longest standing dom leaders in Plague, threw a fit over this and flounced from the site. This didn't heavily involve JT, but it did leave him pretty much alone at the top.

Shortly after his flight change cooldown was up, he moved to Earth. He was not successful in joining the dom team there, so that's pretty much the end of his drama career. People were annoyed that he basically claimed he made Plague great again as he abandoned it.

Wow, what an absolute dumpster fire this all is. Thanks for taking the time to dig up these threads and screenshots for me, I appreciate it. Genuinely can't believe how JT/JS kept weaseling their way into multiple dom management positions considering their track record, like... what??

As someone who has been on Plague for a while...it's because of the unfortunate culture that was more prominent at that time.
What culture do you ask? The "staff/other flights hates us" culture. So of course, someone as infamous as Jon was welcomed to be a Dom leader in Plague bc dumb reasons (like, let's invite this person, they did nothing wrong, just spam fundraisers nonstop).

Off-topic rant: I want to think that this "victim complex" is less prominent, mostly because this past RoR was the tipping point for many plague oldies (realizing it's not that deep), the ban of ShadeofChaos and the ridiculous attitude of Kyra (boycott the site!!! I stand with plague!!! Ugh) was mine.

Also, fun fact: the way ShadeofChaos told her history (was banned because she bought too many gems in a short lapse) it's so stupid. Suuuuree it was just an unfortunate coincidence that she was banned right when staff cracked onto a huge black market operation, that also included another Dom leader (Fire's bank person) and others. Just one person (a random user, but they had/have a Tumblr) came clear that they were banned due to doing black market trades.

Lol I jumped ship before Kyra did her rant, but that's because she and Mercedes were total tyrants in discord.

people kicking and screaming about being banned makes me MORE suspicious of them actually multiaccounting or doing black market exchanges. if your dom bank is dumb enough to knowingly break TOS while holding the whole damn flight's dom funds... play stupid games, win stupid prizes i guess. it truly sucks that fire had to deal with that absolute nuclear fallout because of one player's actions, though

No problem haha, I get really into tracking down old drama sometimes.

I think Plague might have been uniquely vulnerable to this scenario because the old dom team had kind of a history of being a cliquey friends group. So he just had to buddy up to people like KyraG and convince them that his reputation was just from people being mad that he was good at fundraising or whatever, and it wouldn't have been difficult. Also, he did have a lot of energy to put into dom, and that's rare enough that other dom leaders would probably welcome a new addition to the team, even if they had reservations about his history.

He was friends with Shade, so that's likely how.
