was browsing Beetle veils on the AH and noticed that more than half of them were Wasp/Hawkmoth/Beetle XYX/XYYs being sold by the same handful of users; thought this was an oddly specific trend so checked the accounts to see if it was a subspecies group or smth

turns out they all have the same basic lair layout (Main/"Veilspun"/"Sale"/Untitled lair tabs, completely undeveloped hibden, heavy preference for gem-gened doubles), similar names, are on each other's friend lists, mostly joined around the same time...multiaccounter, anyone?

Something about the art looked odd but I couldn't place it. Then someone on the 2nd page mentioned Artbreeder and I instantly knew what was going on. Artbreeder is an interesting website that uses AI generation to create things like portraits and landscapes.

And despite this person's claims that they use Krita to paint them, its very very obviously not. They have obviously just used Artbreeder, or something similar. I've been using Artbreeder for ages now and I've made stuff with a very similar feel to it. If you go check out the website and generate landscapes you'll see exactly what I mean.

It comes off as weird to me too. These are free to use, why bother lying? They wouldn't even get in trouble for saying they use artbreeder. They're good at it to! Just... why are you claiming you're painting these when its pretty clear you arent.

Absinthine accused Chivalry of anti-asian racism even though Chivalry is literally Chinese. When corrected, the only thing Absinthine had to say was, “hey thanks for clearing up, i apologize for any mess caused! i was told you were Canadian and taking school there”. Absinthine didn’t even delete their reblog where they called Chivalry racist.

People loving the discussion atm so I figured I'd make a wanker thread about them.

To anyone not in the loop: User Fels #357204 lowballed heavily on a dragon being sold by an older user that isn't really active in the community and obviously doesn't understand pricing much. The dragon is a Tarnish/Ginger XXY, and was sold to Fels for 15kt.

Fels' "sister" then messages someone offering to sell it to them for 30kg. A pretty clear scam going on here.

And to clarify: This entire time, Fels/Khadgar/Jax have been painting a picture of Fels being a poor little newbie who likewise doesn't understand value. Which is absolute bullshit.

Fels has "g1 hoarder" on their clan profile. And a quick look through their forum history, in particular in dragon sales, very clearly shows you that they know what they're doing. Plus they joined in 2017, that isn't exactly "new"

Context: I got a purple toxic dog in CS, out of the re-release of the 18 (a somewhat sought out pet). Also, my UN in FR is very different from the one on CS.

I was rearranging all of my CS's pets to see how many duplicates I have that are worth at least something, out of the blue a trading notification comes out, and what do you know, it's a trade for the purple pup, for 4 uncommon pets of '11.

I follow the user, registered on '12 (I got in '16), they're also on FR....

Fucker is a 3-digit account and a G1 collector.

I could get around 4kg for the doggo, so lolno.
