Seeing them in Shadow's foddart is so amusing because I remember one time, a flight did both a public buy and foddart for a conquest push, and AC said they were being ableist for doing both at the same time*. That was the same week as the silhouette scroll update and then right afterwards AC starting sympathizing with that flight and claiming that the FR staff were apathetic to the hard work they put into their conquest push by doing curtain down maintenance in the middle of it.
*if we want to get pedantic, AC specifically said that's it's ableist to offer art only for levels and not currency, and I can see the line of thinking there, but it was a Conquest Push. They want to Conquest and levels are how you do that.
to be fair, this has the same energy as an embarrassed teenager making their cousin go to the school dance with them to avoid being seen alone. I can believe WW is a relative.
nayrt - semi related but I distinctly remember AC talking about how their entire family (including sister) were abusive and left them to die in the streets on their personal tumblr last year during one of their classic breakdowns. Of course the tumblr is nuked now, just my luck for grabbing screens, but I'm sure you can imagine the usual MO.
I always find it wild how AC has a dedicated circle of supporters (sibling, close friends, partner) who will very publicly die on a hill for them, yet AC manages to consistently trash and speak down on and to these folks very publicly on their tumblr when having breakdowns. I can't imagine how they speak to this circle in private especially when they're having one of their bad moments, if that's how they're willing to speak on their circle in the public eye.
If anything I have to imagine that circle is the one bankrolling AC.
i'm so glad someone else has noticed this! on more than one occasion i've seen a post by AC blaming their partner for any number of things and how it's not THEIR fault that they're going to die etc etc or seen AC arguing in the comments with one of the few friends they have
i would not be surprised if these arguments/"abuse" stem from these people trying to stand up for themselves or just not reacting perfectly to something unhinged from AC.
Considering their track record and a lack of internet that will kill them, I am surprised that they even were on the team. I think they just like the attention.
This is all just hot air because if they genuinely wanted to stop being scrutinized in public, they would stop doing all this in public. Yes, FR is a petsim, but it has social media elements, including the issue of “anything you post has the potential to spread without you being able to stop it”.
"By continuing to post them on these salt forums/blogs you people are also hurting their on-site business. Need I remind anyone that when I took over one of their adoptables suddenly the ping list exploded. Orders filled up instantly. I’m not blind to that. It’s very obvious that this stuff is hurting their business and that’s also not okay"
No, having a million rules with "NO REFUNDS" and NO guarantee that the product paid for will ever be received, from a person who is frequently "murdered/dead" and is "actively dying" because they don't have internet is hurting their business.
I would also think screaming "FR and it's staff is Fascist!!" over a 24hr suspension right there in the tag openly visible to *everyone looking at the tag* certainly isn't helping their business either. Maybe they should tell AC to stop being a twat in public and people wouldn't feel the need to comment on their outrageous behavior and maybe their business will do better.
Cause and effect. If you throw a very public tantrum on top of [*gestures above*] all that I'm gonna take my business elsewhere, simple as.
I could have sworn I saw, earlier in this thread, a copy/paste from one of their places where they said that they weren't going to fulfill their obligations and they weren't giving refunds?
To me, that would be much more likely to kill business than saltmines.
Knowing that the person you are about to order art from does what AC does when they don't like what is said/done is much more likely to kill the business (all the rants about fascism and how people who don't actively help them are actively harming them and so on)
There are a lot of things that can kill a business, and one of them isn't a place that is showcasing all those things, it is the person *doing* those things.
imo you need to have a certain level of dedicatiom/interest to be involved in the FR community off of the site, on places like tumblr. and you need to be even more locked in to the goings-on to actually know of the existence of places like SMR/DRR. but to know of ARR takes an admittedly significant amount of involvement and familiarity with FR's community; you don't just stumble across an anon dreamwidth comm. its absurd to claim that the chatter here is to blame for AC's lack of commissions when probably <5% of FR's playerbase even knows what dreamwidth is, much less ARR's existence. most FR players just stick to the game and its forums.
...y'know, the place where AC throws public tantrums and has dubious customer service.
i coulda sworn there were SEVERAL posts on their kofi about the whole moving situation, including ones where they say they did secure a moving truck, and did obtain at least some of their belongings, and brought those belongings down to Texas with them. hmm.
