I am not in the beta, but I watched someone's stream on opening day of Early Access and... I am not impressed. The user (Valentine in the game) didn't DO anything, primarily because there wasn't anything to DO. Gathering was busted, guilds are busted, breeding was busted. Gathering and breeding have been fixed (?) since, but they said that it was basically in the same state as alpha. It's still missing a ton of assets and TEXT all over the site. Lorum ipsum dominates. It's frustrating, since the project lead and community manager are both writers, but where is the text?
the recent release of """betas""" from sites like santae/lorwolf/dappervolk i think have really set people's expectations of beta way too high. as an alpha tester and now EA tester, this is much more close to the beta testing that i did for wolvden. this is... honestly pretty normal for a beta? the people saying there is no difference between alpha and closed beta, really just don't know what they're talking about beyond the very basic visual/gameplay elements. a lot of necessary infrastructure has been fixed between the two
Nonny are you even a beta tester? Mine and my friends 20+ bug tickets would like to disagree. There is a lot to test and break right now, even if it isn't up to your standards.
it was a rough day one but things are steadily improving. just last night some wip art assets were implemented among other things. it is still very rough but i expect things will be significantly more polished over the course of these two weeks where the dev team will be actively working on improvements before having a rest period until March. in agreement with other anons that recent petsite alphas/betas have raised the bar in what players expect out of "testing" builds in terms of functionality, so im trying to take things in stride. i do wish things were a little better (like we can't even redeem our ks codes... come on man) but if that's honest game development then i'll fucking take it man.
