Initially I thought they locked it after Aeq commented about removing references to Naomi from the FRD thread, but I checked just now and that was on the 10th. Profile was still up till the 12th at least. It's a mystery
I'm really hoping we'll get the wind ancient soon, preferably a month or two before MistJam. IMO november to pre-NotN december looks like a good window for it, maybe early january latest to ensure there is also time and space for the light ancient before Brightshine. I neeeeed this so that I won't have to wait until mid-2026 to complete my collection of flight ambassador ancients that have their respective festival gene...
The pinglist for errors looks like a great idea. I’ve definitely been burnt by gene error changes which I just didnt know about before because the error threads can get super cluttered and hard to read through. Happy to see they’re taking the feedback on board.
yeah i like the second fix way more, it looks closer to the males, which is great tbh! I hope we just can in the future avoid issues like the fathom fix or the great obi flaunt/flair debacle and so on.
as the person who went and gathered screenshots of quotes from her books to find what she defined as parts of the wing anatomy, i'm also happy with the fact undel posted with very clear wording of what parts of the wing are being changed, so there's on-site staff definitions we can now refer to in the future if need be.
i'm also glad she added in "We reserve the right to determine how we want our dragons and artwork to appear," even if it's not likely to stop people from complaining about future changes. staff is completely within their right to uphold the image they plan for their dragons, even if we don't like it. this is a case where they realized they were wrong in multiple ways and made an appropriate change, but it can't be expected every time.
Well, reserving the right to judge once it's visible for the project's genes I liked new on rather than the original.(I delayed it if in case of revert)
But I am glad they didn't just revert it. Better precedent.
Tbh I hate pricing g1’s so I usually just hatch until I have enough to put up a penny auction. It keeps it easier for me and most dragons get taken (either as someone’s project or as cheap 1g fodder).
no, it's not just you. this is begging and using emotional manipulation (unemployment sob story, 'but these four are the only eggs I can share with you this month, one of them being a gift :/' is clearly expressing disappointment over not being given more eggs to compensate for their lack of funds).
using phrases that includes/invites the reader like it's some sort of community effort ("share with you", "follow me on this journey", even having a whitelist of donators on the first post encourages users to join the list) is cutely disguising the fact that this doesn't benefit anyone in the community at all, only aoi. it's similar to how content creators will say "we did it, [creator's 'familial' term for their viewers]!" when reaching subscriber or view goals and creates a 'relationship' that is meant to keep people wanting to contribute more because there's an imaginary bond between the reader and writer. i'm sure they're going to sell all the dragons they don't want, and they're going to profit off of the completely free eggs they're getting.
tl;dr: it doesn't matter if you're unemployed, if you can't offer to pay for the things you want, you wait until you can.
They've always rubbed me the wrong way. This time it's probably the tiny violin playing as they talk about their unemployment. Like we all get it, not having a job is hard but mentioning it all the time and saying you'll take donations really just feels like a manipulative tactic to get free stuff from sympathetic users.
i say report at least one of the posts saying "user is begging in multiple posts for donations with emotional manipulation", and report the first page for callouts (like the operacake thread, where the donations list was removed from OP because staff doesn't even want positive callouts to prevent others from potentially going to those users to harass them)
Page 3. They're going to board almost all of them, the same way they did with the 2k hatch. It was a shitshow of epic proportions with people holding dragons that were auctioned by other users and Aoi being a dick about all of it, seemingly wanting to be as hands-off as possible and doing minimal organization while reaping all the clout.
