Surprised that there isn't anyone talking about the battle but I guess folks are occupied with the few other drama happening lol.

Lots of flips going on this battle which is really refreshing, when the last battles I've witness have had NO flips (Water vs Ice and Arcane vs Light). I appreciate how both teams try to keep things equal, raffle/PB-wise. Fodder floor is also up to 14g.

Which team are y'all supporting? I've just been sending slightly more dragons with bonuses to the team on 2nd place so far, might dump the rest of my stash on Ice on the 2nd-last day since I like how Ice stepped up for Water vs Ice last year so I wanna see them win this time.

I'm in ice which sucks because for once I'm just not that interested in winning, as I really just need some treasure. I'm contemplating between selling my fodder stash on the AH and straight up just sending them to the wind OOF raffle for a chance at the prizes. I'd feel a bit bad doing the latter to my flight but also... the prizes and payouts are so good...

Water vs ice was boring because ice was brought in last minute with fire dropping out and water prepping for months.

Arcane vs light was such a stupid idea and terrible match up.

never gonna get over Arcane v. Light being Arcane's idea. In what world did they think -

I used to be in Ice! Also - and I’m aware this is petty as *hell* - I signed up for a Wind Foddart and had a bunch of levels ready to go on midday Sunday…only for them to have no acceptors online, leaving me lair locked. Meaning I couldn’t train more while I waited.

I was surprised there was no thread for this too! Rooting for Ice!

Team Ice all the way! Seeing all the flips so far has been a breath of fresh air.

Though, what's up with their oof raffles being nearly identical up until the art and training prizes? Is that something flights just do sometimes now (been on hiatus for a while) or something new/theme related? No issue with them being the same btw, just curious.

I don't think it's standard; probably something they agreed on for this push ahead of time!

someone posted an auraboa on the AH at 15kt and then immediately got banned which is keeping the fodder floor down as it sits at the top of the AH lol

Any Icicles feel free to correct me, but from an outsider's perspective, it seems like Ice can't keep up with Wind's pockets. They've all but stopped ordering mercs. The floor escalated at a comparatively unhinged rate and I don't think Ice can afford it.

That was a wild finish at the end there, level 7s were going in the PB/Raffles for 40kt! I think Ice had a good strategy for conserving their money and energy, but they definitely waited too long to implement it. Had they started yesterday, I think they would've had a shot, but they let Wind sit on top for too long outpacing them with mercs. Unfortunately, I think they shot themselves in the foot, it was far too late for them to catch up.

Light and Fire are going to be pushing conquest at the same time, but it’s pretty pointedly not a battle + there’s apparently some reason why it’s not a battle, but I haven’t seen what that reason is. Anyone know if there’s some beef or if it’s nothing?

I don't think either side wants to deal with a battle. It's a lot of energy for the flight and dom team members that no one wants to burn before NoTN and its expensive as hell as Ice and Wind just helpfully demonstrated for us.

Fire is not capable of battling anyone at this time.

They planned a battle with Water in 2023 and backed out a few weeks before it was meant to start because their leadership was a shitshow and they hadn't begun preparing.

Things have barely improved there since. Light probably wants no part of trying to work with them and they have the confidence to say "We're going to go for that week, you do whatever you want."

Lightdom posted an update today about this and why it's not a battle, tldr: Both staked a claim before you could see on Dom Watch who was pushing that week, Fire wanted to battle, dom teams couldn't agree on terms (not surprised, Arcanedom used battle terms to treat Lightdom like shit during LvA and Lightdom has never liked terms), nobody is battling now.
