An important update:

Due to a specific person being a complete child, comments are going to be screened by default.

This is only temporary, and I apologize for the inconvenience- this is going to be a pain in the ass for me, too, but multiple people have come forward about fears of doxxing, and this is the only way to make sure any doxxing is contained.

(This basically will force the doxxer to make a DW account to post any doxxing attempts unscreened, and will let me more reliably report them to DW staff/authorities.)

Again, I apologize, and will be working to unscreen comments as fast as possible, but I'm only one person.

(Vasemod has had some personal issues come up, so I am the only mod atm. Please bear with me until this bit of annoyance has passed.)

the favoritism is becoming a bit jarring. comparing this entry to the other applicants... its becoming apparent the admin are picking favorites at this point.

That's always been the point of the contest... pick the skins that work best...

if they had favoritism they wouldn't have banned them.

favoritism =/= allowing them to ignore ToS.

They had no reports and the user wasn't actively using them. Burying that by banning the secondaries(leaving the main) and telling them to not talk about it would have been dirt easy.

Especially as they had no way to know if BM would come back after the ban. Plenty wouldn't, or wouldn't do anything that would generate site money(such as accents.) after a ban.

The staff chose to ban their "favorite" anyways.

i'd argue that how he was banned showed staff's favoritism even more; i don't recall anyone else being banned and then contacted by the site owner, personally, to express how disappointed they were to have to ban him.

undel reached out to brightmyth after the ban regarding his skins. there was a screenshot floating around for a while.

oops, sorry, it wasn't undel specified, but it came straight from customer service staff.

aequorin stepped in to handle the rest of the deal, but mentioned talking to undel about it. considering the severity of what happened, i imagine that an admin did handle it as it had to be investigated.

I think Undel is probably more involved in bans than you realize. Small site, few staff. I expect she sees all bans.

You know, this same drama popped up about TalaTari and bluedragon back in the day, and the result was both players no longer submitting to contests. At this point you kinda have to give props to 888 and mv for hanging in there.

Seriously OP what do you want from 888? To quit contests? Quit FR? If they stop entering contests altogether are you gonna have peace of mind or just start harassing the next most frequently winning artist and say that artist is only winning bc of favoritism? Genuine question.

I miss TalaTari, their works were so unique and I was sad when people drove them from the site.

As frustrating as it can be, there is no denying that the "staff faves" are skilled and produce amazing work, all I can suggest is be the change you want to be. Become better and more amazing so people can whinge about you as well.

We should all be adults here, can't we just enjoy our pixel dragons without hating on each other?

Wait is THAT why they're inactive???? I didn't know they'd been driven off- their accents were SO COOL.

I miss TalaTari too but she wasn't driven off the site, she took great pride in her art and enjoyed sharing it but real life just happened and I can only ever hope she's okay wherever she is in the world
