Spooky Spite

An important update:

Due to a specific person being a complete child, comments are going to be screened by default.

This is only temporary, and I apologize for the inconvenience- this is going to be a pain in the ass for me, too, but multiple people have come forward about fears of doxxing, and this is the only way to make sure any doxxing is contained.

(This basically will force the doxxer to make a DW account to post any doxxing attempts unscreened, and will let me more reliably report them to DW staff/authorities.)

Again, I apologize, and will be working to unscreen comments as fast as possible, but I'm only one person.

(Vasemod has had some personal issues come up, so I am the only mod atm. Please bear with me until this bit of annoyance has passed.)

I love them.

(Check out Medusa tertiary gene on hatchlings, it's adorable.)

I love them, and I got one lucky hatch and one slightly less lucky hatch from my eggs. I love Scuttle way more than I should.

But surely it's a missed opportunity to have a plant eater? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they don't eat insects like 75% of my lair seems to. But there's a dearth of plant eating dragons and I think it would have been a logical choice.

i'm really feeling the gene bloat because i haven't seen any of the genes i want to get for it

Turns out 7k users all hatching dragons and using the scrying workshop is the amount required to accidentally DDOS the site. Whoops!

if they were a modern breed, they'd be my favourites and i'd have a page of them. alas, they are ancient, so they are ok, i might get maybe even two of them.

I feel like you're shooting yourself in the foot if, every time a new breed is released, it's guaranteed to have massive gene errors. I know it's reasonable to expect some errors, and it's not at all feasible to check a fraction of the color/gene/pose combinations. But like, when the shading is duplicated on every single color of one gene, or a layer is missing on every single color of a pose, and this happens with every breed release, it's super discouraging and dissapointing.

And I've seen people saying "you should expect art errors during release" and "just don't scry them yet." That's not reasonable to expect from players, especially newer players. There are no external deadlines on new breeds releasing, so there is always time to catch and fix the "every color is affected" errors before putting these breeds in the game. If it's not finished yet, don't release it, or at least WARN players that it's probably not finished. Nobody would mind if the news posts said (soft/beta release) instead, for treasure breeds.

DA i don't understand why they can't run the image generation engine on the backend somehow to do a bunch of previews. if random stuff like the buttercup stitched snapper hatchlings fall through the cracks, oh well, but it would catch entire genes being glitched.

I know people will never stop complaining about things like this, but until petsites become extremely lucrative, better change your expectations. Flight Rising is the best site yet for having cohesion and completed features pushed out. This is a "dose of realism" situation. Keep pointing out errors, but if you find yourself daydreaming of a "perfect" site and getting upset that it doesn't exist, time to curb it back. They'll never go perfectly smoothly.

AYRT I completely agree with you, I'm just genuinely confused why the process works such that they only see how everything turns out when the breed is released. I don't understand why the engine can only generate images that are live on the site.
