An important update:

Due to a specific person being a complete child, comments are going to be screened by default.

This is only temporary, and I apologize for the inconvenience- this is going to be a pain in the ass for me, too, but multiple people have come forward about fears of doxxing, and this is the only way to make sure any doxxing is contained.

(This basically will force the doxxer to make a DW account to post any doxxing attempts unscreened, and will let me more reliably report them to DW staff/authorities.)

Again, I apologize, and will be working to unscreen comments as fast as possible, but I'm only one person.

(Vasemod has had some personal issues come up, so I am the only mod atm. Please bear with me until this bit of annoyance has passed.)

Just me being annoyed and grumpy, but that's what the wank thread is for, right?

I'm on the G1 pinglist for a specific date, which usually isn't an issue. I also have AoiNoRyuu blocked, for a few reasons. It's a minor thing, but I've been pinged by people selling dragons for them a lot lately, because apparently they need to sell using 800 separate auctions and threads and did part of the mass hatch on the date I follow. They keep using different auctioneers, and since Aoi themself isn't making the posts, the auctioneer essentially gets around the block I have up for Aoi because I don't want to see their stuff. It's just getting on my nerves a good bit, I'm being cranky and blocking everyone who pings for Aoi.

Not only do they have a LOT of auctions run by diff people, but one of them has CLEARLY never run an auction of this magnitude- SnowLynx is running an auction for EIGHTY-ONE dragons, and they didn't even know what a snipe guard is. :/

Running 81 auctions in a post? That's how you get valuable dragons going for pennies because no one sane goes through that.

Which is why, despite my dislike of Aoi and how they've handled this, I'm bidding on one of them, because I'm hoping to get it for a steal.

Seriously, double does not mean 1k gem prices. I have fodder rescued g1 doubles too often. And a lot of those are mediocre.

Side complaint: I went to check out that thread and boy do I hate how seemingly all auctioneers, not just SnowLynx, put the scries as the big image "advertisement" or whatever fuck they imagine it to be - it's not the dragon you are selling. Your "pretty" looks fucked up. Just show me the dragons you have.

That's what sells man. Besides for G1s you can't see the tert on the default picture, so if you're gonna add a gene so it's visible you might as well scry the whole thing. As long as theres a link to the dragon so you can scry for yourself it's not that big a deal.

the worst is auctions with accents, especially if they're not being sold with the dragon. my guy, I'm too impoverished to buy whatever fancy UMA you have, I just want pretty xyz G1s.

I instantly back out of the thread if the scry is the main image of an ungened G1 that gets auctioned. It is borderline scammy and really unprofessional!

God damn people stop with that stupid shit, what you are selling actually is the focal point not some maybe-existing in the future dragon!

I love scrolling through images of plain Nocturnes too. It really helps me as a prospective buyer to understand their full potential.

are you the same person who called scries in G1 bios scummy on SMR or is there more than one person who has this baffling take

like i get finding it a little silly if the dragon is absolutely drowned out in apparel and expensive UMAs but just genes is hardly scummy

I mean, I totally need an ungened noct picture. As long as they clearly label it a scry, I see no issue

a practice like this isn't scammy. it's like a real estate listing having only photos of furnished rooms to show prospective buyers what they could look like when moved in, rather than empty and cold spaces that are difficult to get a feel for. these showings might not display the repair work that may need to be done, and you're highly unlikely to be getting the furniture along with the sale, but it's important that when you buy something, you take the time to look at the thing you're about to buy. you set up a time with the realtor to go look at it and ask questions.

same with dragon sales. go to that dragon's profile before buying. it doesn't take too much time or effort to do it. i will concede that maybe people need to be clearer that their main advertising images are scries for currently ungened dragons, but it's not borderline scammy to have a scry as the main image.

Yeah I got a ping for the thread and immediately could tell alot of these dragons should have had much lower starting bids, especially given I have seen some of them in much lower purchase prices in the spreadsheet prior when I took a curious look.

The thread is... definitely a mess, and SnowLynx shouldn't have taken on auctioning so many dragons, especially when they do not know how a snipe guard works.

I have seen quite a handful of people bid, and I am just lucky none of these dragons caught my interest to bother putting up with this mess.

They still don't know entirely how a snipe guard works. Auction was supposed to end at 4:10 server time. Someone made a bid at 3:10ish, so SnowLynx activated the snipe guard for every single dragon on the thread.

Unless *I'm* the idiot and that's how it's supposed to work? idk, I've never seen a snipe guard apply to ALL dragons in a thread, just the ones actively being bid on in the past 2-3 hours.

(Yes, I bid on one of them and there hasn't been any bids on it in DAYS, I just want to take the win and go to bed, I'm tired.)

I have seen it before. I despise that style of snipe guard. Was going to go to bed, and someone triggered the snipe guard on everything and kept me up for the duration of the snipe guard period for them to SB a mediocre dragon.
