An important update:
Due to a specific person being a complete child, comments are going to be screened by default.
This is only temporary, and I apologize for the inconvenience- this is going to be a pain in the ass for me, too, but multiple people have come forward about fears of doxxing, and this is the only way to make sure any doxxing is contained.
(This basically will force the doxxer to make a DW account to post any doxxing attempts unscreened, and will let me more reliably report them to DW staff/authorities.)
Again, I apologize, and will be working to unscreen comments as fast as possible, but I'm only one person.
(Vasemod has had some personal issues come up, so I am the only mod atm. Please bear with me until this bit of annoyance has passed.)

(Anonymous) 2023-09-29 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)Even after a guide to fest entries was posted, the direct response in the early Earth fest contest thread was painterly, photorealistic skins. Skins about content not previously described as Earth flight lore. Following a style guide is its own skill separate from painting and drawing.
Most people just don’t want to follow a style guide when they’re submitting to a game art contest. They want to be acknowledged for expressing themselves. That’s how people are about hobbies.
Most players, in response, don’t really want a person’s self expression on their dragon. They want something Flight Rising related.
In any case nobody is in the wrong for wanting particular stuff here. The absolutely wrong choice is, of course, to continuously harass their fellow players for following a style guide.
