An important update:

Due to a specific person being a complete child, comments are going to be screened by default.

This is only temporary, and I apologize for the inconvenience- this is going to be a pain in the ass for me, too, but multiple people have come forward about fears of doxxing, and this is the only way to make sure any doxxing is contained.

(This basically will force the doxxer to make a DW account to post any doxxing attempts unscreened, and will let me more reliably report them to DW staff/authorities.)

Again, I apologize, and will be working to unscreen comments as fast as possible, but I'm only one person.

(Vasemod has had some personal issues come up, so I am the only mod atm. Please bear with me until this bit of annoyance has passed.)

Yeah I got a ping for the thread and immediately could tell alot of these dragons should have had much lower starting bids, especially given I have seen some of them in much lower purchase prices in the spreadsheet prior when I took a curious look.

The thread is... definitely a mess, and SnowLynx shouldn't have taken on auctioning so many dragons, especially when they do not know how a snipe guard works.

I have seen quite a handful of people bid, and I am just lucky none of these dragons caught my interest to bother putting up with this mess.

Yep. I can only do so much damage control on my end, this was a compromise of sorts. (That's from the old AR, so I can't change the content)

are you the same person who called scries in G1 bios scummy on SMR or is there more than one person who has this baffling take

like i get finding it a little silly if the dragon is absolutely drowned out in apparel and expensive UMAs but just genes is hardly scummy

I mean, I totally need an ungened noct picture. As long as they clearly label it a scry, I see no issue

a practice like this isn't scammy. it's like a real estate listing having only photos of furnished rooms to show prospective buyers what they could look like when moved in, rather than empty and cold spaces that are difficult to get a feel for. these showings might not display the repair work that may need to be done, and you're highly unlikely to be getting the furniture along with the sale, but it's important that when you buy something, you take the time to look at the thing you're about to buy. you set up a time with the realtor to go look at it and ask questions.

same with dragon sales. go to that dragon's profile before buying. it doesn't take too much time or effort to do it. i will concede that maybe people need to be clearer that their main advertising images are scries for currently ungened dragons, but it's not borderline scammy to have a scry as the main image.

Tried the links in the old anonrising but they both lead to 404s. Wayback machine is also showing random, unrelated albums instead of the archives too. Unless there's another imgur album I think it's truly lost.

Huh? I actually like it when they do this. I am not a creative person so I like to see what other people come up with before I buy.

Web.archive.org for the first link in the old AR thread will work, unfortunately imgur had a fairly recent update purging old images that were not connected to accounts hence why they are likely lost.

did anyone archive the bios before the pics got removed?

for the murder one, you have to go back to the march 2018 capture. it works. just checked as of making this post.

I'm getting deja vu. We had someone in our flight who made a huge bratty stink about not being allowed to do this sort of thing. Right down to the same kind of arguments.

The consensus from that argument was they were the asshole.

They still don't know entirely how a snipe guard works. Auction was supposed to end at 4:10 server time. Someone made a bid at 3:10ish, so SnowLynx activated the snipe guard for every single dragon on the thread.

Unless *I'm* the idiot and that's how it's supposed to work? idk, I've never seen a snipe guard apply to ALL dragons in a thread, just the ones actively being bid on in the past 2-3 hours.

(Yes, I bid on one of them and there hasn't been any bids on it in DAYS, I just want to take the win and go to bed, I'm tired.)

Account made in January this year, and yet they had an imp scroll on the AH. Their story in XYZ1 makes no sense, about a friend doing art for a G1 imp-- okay, how did a scroll come up then? They're super suspicious and asking people on discord to DM them for the info about the scroll.

No evidence from me, but it sounds like someone who bought it RMT, then flexed it without having a believable story lined up. Their discord was also made in late October this year.

Anyone know anything about that user who has the imp scroll? It seems like it's a newish shell account that just started collecting expensive stuff and being active, shell hoarder on LW as well with no activity. Don't see how in the world they could have afforded one of those unless it was RMT and they are trying to offload it fast. Or could this be a dupe? IDK my spidey senses tell me something is wrong with that listing and not to touch it.

Oh yes the good old DM me over Discord so the FR staff can't moderate what I'm about to say about X. Wondering if they're trying to resell it for rmt. Why else would they encourage people to ask questions?
