An important update:

Due to a specific person being a complete child, comments are going to be screened by default.

This is only temporary, and I apologize for the inconvenience- this is going to be a pain in the ass for me, too, but multiple people have come forward about fears of doxxing, and this is the only way to make sure any doxxing is contained.

(This basically will force the doxxer to make a DW account to post any doxxing attempts unscreened, and will let me more reliably report them to DW staff/authorities.)

Again, I apologize, and will be working to unscreen comments as fast as possible, but I'm only one person.

(Vasemod has had some personal issues come up, so I am the only mod atm. Please bear with me until this bit of annoyance has passed.)

I wish staff could ban people for offsite behaviour, at least when it was something as serious as this.

i'm really glad to see that my memory wasn't shit for once, and that i remembered correctly that vongacy was one of the fucking awful group you just laid out. people had been hand-waving me for ages if i said that they were a god awful person. 99% of my blocklist are people who do the things you listed, so i was really confident and never let anyone convince me otherwise, but my memory is bad which lets people discredit it.

they don't ban people for doxxing, they sure af ain't gonna do anything about dumb asses recreating 4chan in their own private server.

another OOFer here. i saw some needlessly rude comments about your flight's efforts this week and i hope they werent too demoralizing. i can tell you all worked incredibly hard and i hope your flight had a good time pushing.

Yeah this is normal. There's so many people that hold fodder until the last day hoping for the best price that it floods the market and brings it back down some on Saturday every time.

Shout out to Ice for stepping up just to make the dom battle even possible. I gave them as much love as I could through out the week. Props to you guys. :)

Oh I absolutely agree, it's bullshit, but staff loves to twiddle their thumbs and cry "It's off-site" when the people involved have fat wallets or black credit cards.

im going to support arcane, unless if lights raffle is worlds better than arcane's. i love arcane but (and i say this with love in my heart) they are in for a doozy going up against light. i prefer supporting whoever i think is the underdog in battles because flips are fun.

honestly the light OOFB starting a month in advance seems a bit excessive, but i cant blame them for being excited. would not be surprised if arcane gets theirs up shortly.

unfortunately nearly all sites I've been on operate under that policy tbh :/
the argument always goes that its hard to prove people offsite are who people claim they are and evidence can be faked too easily. i would hope with something as serious as doxxing though staff would do more to protect users but shit i've seen people get away with more nefarious shit on other sites because it was all offsite

Yeah, it would be great if truly horrendous people could be banned because of offsite behavior, but it would be too easily abused.

Screenshots can be faked, and staff on FR can't access the behind the scenes information on sites like tumblr or twitter to see if someone faked/edited the information before taking the screenshot.

Sadly, I do believe that there absolutely would be some people (hopefully only a handful, but you never know) who WOULD fake 'evidence' against people they didn't like, just to get them banned, were this allowed. Look at how some people go through and add others to pinglists knowing it will cause those people anxiety or whatever, just because they disagreed on a forum thread. Look at some of the SMR posts about people who have 'rules' that others don't like (not rules about selling dragons, but 'rules' about asking people to not contact them)

How does the dom team's designated bank / money holder prevent themselves from going insane-o style with the astronomical amount of money that they hold

Quite good friends with my flight's vault holder - they disassociate from it and kinda just stash it away. Apparently it's more annoying than anything because there's always money coming in and it's tough to keep up with

any half decent bank is recording the in/out in a publicly accessible way, all the time. sure, someone could go rogue, but with all the constant recording it isnt worth skimming off the top.

id assume its like how when you work in food service, the food just becomes a product to you rather than a yummy thing you're tempted to eat. manually wrap enough delicious fudgy brownies and they stop looking tempting after the 50th or so.

the same like when you are a banker, it is not your money, simple as that, so there is no interest in it, it is like it does not exist for you

you would not make a good banker, it takes a certain type of person to be responsible like that
