im so sorry to be such a cynic but with the clear patterns established by other embers, i don't believe an iota of this lmao. she did exactly as embers said she would - reappeared with an excuse that if you call her out for it, you're an awful person. so she gets to reap in the get well soons and the gifts and experiences no consequences for doing this once again.

How convenient, a major accident right on the first day of the push. Embers, how many times has something similar happened?

I hope she does get well soon if this is true but pressing X to doubt. Also, if this is true, it doesn't seem like she's in any position to work anyway, why even keep her on the team?

Most broken clavicles are healed by immobilizing the shoulder/arm with a sling.

If she needed surgery for a broken clavicle, it would have been a compound fracture where the bone pierced the skin or was broken in more than 2 places.

follow-up question to this: everyone i've known whose has a concussion has needed well beyond two weeks to be able to tolerate screens again. that timeline doesn't seem to add up either

Yep. I had a patient who got a concussion from a car accident; had to fill out FMLA forms for her because she needed to take 2 weeks off from work because she was an accountant who'd be staring at a screen for 8 hours a day.

(Also, as someone with chronic migraines, I can confirm screens are a bad idea when you have head pain/injury. Duchess is full of shit.)

I know screens are a bad idea, but is reading a print book an issue for someone concussed at all? She was active on Goodreads (linked from her main tumblr) while MIA. At the very least, marking things as read.

It's actually a good idea to rest- physically AND mentally- after a concussion.

A concussion isn't just a bruised scalp- it's a literal brain injury, and it's best to just take it easy for at LEAST three days, but ideally, a week or two is the recommended length of time to be gentle with your head.

Your brain is an organ, and like a strained muscle needing to be relaxed, elevated, and not overworked, the brain needs to have minimal overload to recover.

Between the rapid eye movements and neuron impulses firing during reading, it can actually overload the brain and cause bad headaches.

Hell, I can barely do anything but sleep when I have a migraine, I cannot imagine being on screens and reading multiple books after the really bad concussion/broken clavicle that she claimed needed surgery.

All of Duchess's social media is linked on her FR tumblr, which is linked on her FR profile. She was active on multiple sites during this, but couldn't hop on discord to give a quick update, apparently.

I don't want to directly link these profiles because they are full of the kind of information you should never share with a stranger on the internet. Seriously, everything and more.

You don't even have to look off-site for this. She had achievement activity on Aug 28 during fest week. Granted, collecting achievements is easier than communicating on Discord but still, it's very suspicious.

I took a look at the social media and yeah, there's some concerning things on there in terms of oversharing. Especially with her twitter, I saw some anti-white and anti-america stuff on there among other strongly worded things, as well as NSFW comments which.. idk. I won't get into it, but it was definitely offputting for me, and I don't think that's a great look for someone currently representing firedom among other things. There's also older posts where she traveled right around when I would assume a flameforgers push was going on... Which, it states that she travels or wants to travel a lot. Make what yall will of this.

And i'm not one to look through things like this, but all of this was laughably easy to access... I'm surprised there were no background checks performed or anything prior to her stepping up..? Then again, I don't think Flight Rising is a platform most would go that far to do so I suppose. Either way, that's another reason I am offput by her being the current lead, her behavior on her socials is not professional whatsoever and it seems to reflect how she's treated others in the past.

From my understanding and what I've been told, there was a young ember dealing with some things mentally, and I believe it was also known that they also have mental issues going on on top of it. While that is not an excuse for their behavior, the fact that Duchess posted this publicly on her Twitter is also not excusable. It's one thing to vent about the situation privately, but when you are publicly posting this *as the dom lead AND community manager*- since there were no moderators during this time, is very unprofessional and harmful. I hope the person who she was talking about did not come across this at the time, because considering what I can tell from their mental health at the time based on what I'm going off of here, it could've ended VERY poorly.

Again, a simple background check can really help you see the character of someone. I've heard about others being made very uncomfortable by Duch for coming to her for very important things only to be dismissed. I recall when I made the IF Fire server there were people grateful that there were mods specifically for this reason- and im fairly certain that is what pushed duchess to finally hire mods in the OOF Fire server in the first place.

Again I apologize if I am being very blunt or harsh, but again, this among a lot of other things has left a very sour taste in my mouth and this is why I no longer will work with AA under Duchess.

Meh, was the twitter her personal twitter or FR twitter? If the latter sure that's a little weird, but I don't think you need to represent your dom team on your personal twitter lol. Those tweets are correct.

there is nothing wrong with dom orgs traveling as long as there are other dom orgs to pick up the slack, which frankly they could have done if they knew duchess was unreliable. I think you should stick to criticisms of how she stole items or whatever because your concern over her "anti-America" sentiments would make half of FR roll their eyes. not to mention the anti-America tweets were pertaining to football lol.

It's the fact that she did not inform any of the fellow orgs of this to my knowledge nor the flight in general, and I think if you've been following what's been going on with FireDom, you know of the FF2022 drama that happened last year as well.

She must have deleted some of her stuff because the most recent stuff I saw on twitter was from Eurovision, and she hasn't been active on her personal tumblr in six months.

Oh she did delete stuff. Which to me proves that she was lying about her injury because pessi posts this shit and then it vanished almost instantly from her stuff fml duchess needs to leave fire alone
