hi, I'm a droplet. I can confirm that they've backed out, but the announcement in the water flight told us not to announce it publicly until it's also announced in fire. well, i say screw that.

i've moved flights quite a lot, and when i moved to fire i figured i'd stay there. the discord community was genuinely very nice and engaging, but we were held back by duchess so often. while i don't like duchess, i hope she's okay with whatever is going on in her life, but she needs to step down if her life gets in the way of being head dom org this frequently.

personally, while i'm pretty mad that they chose to back out, i think in the end it was for the better since the flight is so disorganized. water would not want to be caught in the crossfires of that, and we are still planning to push october 8-14.

I find it weird though that our dom team is confirming this even before the rest of Fire was notified about it. I mean... I had been considering vacationing to Fire but postponed it due to the upcoming push. Now I'm not sure what to do. Weird feelings all around with the handling of this news.

As another droplet, considering we had people doing battle prep, I appreciate knowing as soon as possible.

The leads can't make fire notify their flight. They sure can let us know it's not happening.

isn't it Fire's responsibility to notify their own flight considering it was their idea to cancel? this looks to me more like poor communication in Fire than anything, which has already been an issue :/ the embers were barely informed of what the deal was with the late raffle start.

One of the Ember’s here. I would like to say, that we told about this earlier today. As far as we know, yes the push is canceled. But that’s because they’re restructuring the dom team. Prizes from the Flameforgers raffle should not be affected. Contrary to rumors going around we were not ghosted. The dom team leader is in the hospital. We are awaiting further updates and information

I have no idea (I think Dutchess is the dom team leader? I might have names mixed up, since I’ve never been good with those) All I know is what I’ve been told, and that is that they’re in the hospital. And that fire is redoing our dom team so that stuff like this can’t occur again. (That and we in fire were surprised and confused when someone that was in a water server was how we learned instead of the dom team being able to finish discussing what they could share and what they couldn’t)

Ember, the second your team canceled, they gave up the right to tell water dom what they could say to their own.

They should have told you "Due to circumstances, we are canceling the battle with water. We will give more details once we finish working out a statement."

I wasn’t saying that they should have control over water dom can and can not say. Just that I wish we had learned about it from our dom team. I very much agree that our (fire) dom team should have said something like that instead of what went down

I don’t think Dutchess has actually reappeared, since from what was said the dom team was still trying to get a response from her. I literally only know what was sent in the fire server earlier today. I haven’t been paying much attention to Fire dom until literally this push. I was only trying to share what we were told

She hasn't re appeared, she has had a friend contact people on her behalf, no wait sorry

Duchess so reached out to a friend of hers to tell her and knew enough to tell dom peeps something about her terrible condition.

Just like when she was too distraught over her dog being sick 2 years ago to pay any attention to a game. When she had refused to let other aa members prep for the oof raffle. I mean, come'on. It's a pattern of behavior for her. She expects gifts to thank her for reaching out despite being soooo hurt. Oh she did everything she could, boo fucking hoo.

i literally went on a hiatus for about a year because of the dom drama in fire that went down in 2021-2022. when i came back this year, i moved to water. she does this so often, and even if she does actually have frequent medical conditions that hold her back this often, it shouldn't be a controversial thing to say she should pass the torch to someone else and take on a smaller role in dom or to just quit organizing completely. she's holding the flight back and she's been doing this for years, even before i switched over to fire.

i think what truly killed firedom was losing protowilson, emeraldskye, and booleano all in the same year. those three were absolute powerhouses for the flight, and losing them made a lot of us more casual exalters lose morale. it's why i went on hiatus before flameforgers, and then didn't come back for an indefinite period of time. i don't wish ill upon duchess at all, but if she's in genuine medical distress for the umpteenth time during her tenure as the head of fire dom, then she should have learned by now that she needs someone there to take up the reins for her if something happens.

in the case she's not in medical distress or simply exaggerating actual issues in order to garner sympathy, then she's just an even shittier person than she already is. embers both former and still in the flight all saw this coming.

I find it really sad that the flight remembers Bool and emeraldskye as much as an aa member like proto. There is a reason that two non Dom lead users are more kindly remembered than real aa members. I got so many personal fundraising tips from bool and emerald ran a lot of events where the focus was flight enjoyment and less cost vs profit. Some of the prizes emerald put out were not worth it for the profit the bank would make but they would be prizes from emeralds stash not bank funds.

Bool I can not thank enough. I can earn so much following the tips I got. I wish both would come back.

I miss the events that skye would run in the discord. I loved seeing the challenges where she would bet with some people to be the first to have 7 familiars from a venue or something. I was too shy to openly play along but I would race with them. I miss watching bool's excitement too. The race to getting the bug was the best. If they both came back fire would be so much better for it.
