Except someone in Fire DID tell Duchess to step down. I saw it publicly on the discord. It seemed so out of pocket for the user who did it who was usually friendly that it took me by surprise. The venom in that user was so out of left field that I seriously thought she'd been hacked. Then Duchess [remember folks duchess runs the discord] removed that user and all of the posts from them that discredited them. That user was always helpful and I really wish someone else had helped them or listened to them.
They left fire shortly after that and I remember DM'ing them. They said they had tried to talk about it but because they called her out on DM's on FR the user had gotten a warning on their account from mods. They literally could not keep fighting and so they left fire altogether. I saw the account of that user go dead for months before they picked it up again and I miss them so much.
People telling fire to stand up to Duchess, it's been done and it results in people losing interest when no one supports them. I wish I had supported that user almost a year ago but the way they snapped so out of the blue threw me for a loop. I wouldn't be surprised if there was more deleted comments that I didn't catch. I really miss a few of the old members of the AA but it feels like Duchess is just this powerhouse who has the mod support too.
I really think that the whole flight needs a new bank and to just cut their loss. It's been almost a week since the unexpected vanishing of duchess. She, the items in the account she has for all of fire and the gems/treasure are not coming back. Time to cut our losses and start mad saving for FvW!
Just to add context a large portion of that discord conversation (I would imagine? Unless there's been multiple...) as well as the board that was made publicly in FRD about Duchess and the AA (so if that was your friend, it may have started in DMs but it sure didn't end there lol) was leaked to this site via screenshots/archive. Just gotta go back and find the thread from that time period if you wanted to relive those "precious memories".

Which is why it's been frustrating to a lot of players. I really hope when/if duchess comes back it's with an 'I'm so sorry and I think this proves I need to step down'

How divided is the rest of the Dom team on this? Because if they present a united front, what can she actually do?
If they can keep it to the practical stuff on FR proper ("This is a recurring thing, and so we've decided to move the Dom bank." etc.), surely that's not deserving of a warning.
Well, the alternative is letting her stay on and continuing her crap, which isn’t helping either. If embers have such short-term memory over the repeated times she apparently went AWOL during pushes and continue to enable her with her sob stories then I’d say they reap what they sow.
From what people are saying here, she seems to already be keeping some of it, never mind the extra work and loss of goodwill/Dom chances she's causing. And if she refuses to give it back, that should make it even more obvious to others that it's right to make the change.
I think that conversation started in dm's where a user who covered all of the out of flight prizes that duchess coded and promised to pass out but didn't. The user wanted Duchess to turn over all of those prizes to someone else and step down as Dom leader. Duchess said something along the lines of 'since this user covered the prizes, now Duchess didn't need to give up the prizes.' She refused to reimburse the user who covered for her absence or to give the items back to dom. The user had basically said 'I got this for now, just when she shows back up, lmk'
Well with that response it burst from dm's into public chats, then onto the site. The user posted a public call out page that a mod was quick to take down but not before the user provided screen shots of the conversations and then... got an official warning for inciting harassment or some bs and went to another flight
All the prizes in the oof are lost to embers I think. Duchess isn't coming back
That's insane that Duchess just straight-up stole and wasn't kicked off AA immediately. Other dom teams would've sent her packing the second that sentence left her mouth

The more ember anons speak about Duchess and her shenanigans, the more I think a compilation of all the screenshots of her crap is in order. The info seems all over the place that it's no wonder that embers forget that they're getting fleeced for the nth time.
Wait, sorry if my reading comprehension is off it's getting late here. Does this mean that the winners of the OOF raffle won't get anything, because Duchess is holding onto the prizes? That is awful...
I also have bad reading comprehension but I thiiiink they got their prizes because User XYZ bought them all with their own money to hand out, believing that when Duchess returns, she would reimburse them. She refused to.
I believe the question the OP of this subthread is asking is, what about the prizes from this raffle? Do the packs advertised represent items/currency Duchess is holding, and which are therefore in limbo unless she A) comes back and B) is willing to relinquish them?
I doubt another individual Ember would be willing to replace them out-of-pocket after what apparently happened last time (and I certainly don't blame them), but that being the case, it seems like the raffle is not proceeding entirely in good faith. I don't care all that much personally, I participate in raffles mostly for fun, but it's going to hurt the flight's credibility a lot if they don't end up being able to make good and a disclaimer regarding the present uncertainty on the raffle thread might perhaps be wise.
It's probably a better idea to not replace anything Duchess is supposed to be holding. Either the public pressure forces her to come back and distribute everything, or the raffle will fail spectacularly and very publicly with exactly one person to blame for it all. The conversation around replacing Duchess will be much harder to suppress if the second happens, which I suspect it will at this rate.
RIP to any support for Fire in FvW later this year though. Granted, not that I thought Fire was gonna put up much of a fight in its current state, it'll be even worse if they're restructuring
I feel like that's a sunk cost at this point. If Duchess stays on through that battle, there are likely to be more problems throughout, and Fire won't do well. If they manage to kick her out, there will also be problems, but they can point out that the flight is under new management and trying hard, and people may be more willing to send them dragons. In-flight morale will probably be improved too, and that's a big factor.
oh yeah I didn't mean to suggest they should keep her on, just that it'll be rough for fire's reputation on-site. But you're right, people would be more willing to support a new team I'm sure.
