Pretty sure they locked the copying after Fire shot themselves in the foot by trying to do shitty spreadsheet things during one of Fire v Shadow battles without fully locking down their own sheet. Every other flight somehow manage to secure that particular security problem without the 'copy protection'.
no it's more recent than that (2020 i think was the last time you could copy?) cause the attendants record using a google form (which any ol' person could in theory submit to) and so they're doing this to hide the link to this form at all costs (yes there are other ways to do this)
form recording is widely used and isn't bad per say (it's good that people can submit data without needing a google account or spreadsheet skills) but oof raffles aren't the place for it imo.
AYRT The mildly bored part of me that is also mildly evil is considering ways that I could find out the googleforms link. Another mildly bored part of me just imagined three ways that 'form recording' and 'copy usernames' could coexist in the same sheet. Perhaps in addition to the 'Duchess: yay or nay' drama Fire could just buy a sheetwizard's services to fix their sheets before their battle.
The vast majority of attendant sheets that I see don't have this restriction, and there isn't constant sabotage going on against the other flights, so yeah, I'm assuming there has to be some way to allow it safely.
Pessi: I've been considering reaching out to some sheetwizards- I commissioned dems a bit ago for a new google sheet and they did a wonderful job with it. I do not see a reason not to support those OOF for fire assets either... I commissioned Sols for fire's bank badges a while ago when we were getting close to the deadline with little to none of em too, and they looked amazing!
That being said, embers wanting to pitch in would be priority- they represent the flight after all! But if we are ever in a crunch, OOF artists and the like I think should be a consideration in the future... If only we had the forethought of doing so now... Might take up some people's offers to help out _@
Btw a quick update- I am free tonight and tomorrow, I will get this heckin banner done.. I would've yesterday but I was exhausted from my first day of work. I DID do a bit of attending/funding yesterday and today, and will continue to do so.
