sorry y'alls but i am sick of seeing this dragon & OP's weird hangwringing, especially since they've pinged oldies collector's lists SO many times trying to sell him at wild prices (alongside all their other overpriced dragons)

the thread was created mid-July, with the 1415th scatter on this dragon. as of now, the beginning of August, we're on scatter #1700. @ 350g a pop, that's 100,000g worth of scatters in less than a month.
where is all that money coming from? usually i would guess UMA sales, but all three art shops linked in their signature are years-old & desolate.
is this person one of the fabled FR whales?

i don't have any thoughts on where the gems come from but i do have a medium spicy level hate for people who put their dragons on ah purely for attention. i block on sight for the ones clogging up already small listings like low digits, just why

I don't think they're a whale so much as an opportunist. IIRC, they backed ks for dv, lw and others, then capitalized on selling the ks items before the site tanked.

Also, that's such a waste of gems and a blatant flaunting of said gems bc who the fuck scatters an orca/obs/obs

this person is just kind of obnoxious in general

normally im in the "its someone elses dragon so why would u care about what they do with it" crowd but this person has clearly been doing it for dumb amounts of attention. why tf else would they post about scattering an orca/obs/obs and wanting people to stop them from doing it. its just waggling their e-peen around on the forums for another few months

oh definitely. you can do as you please with your dragons, and generally i find scatterquest threads to be amusing! it's just Alyxsandre with this dragon in particular that annoys me.

At the markups they sell their dragons at I’m sure they can afford this (lol), but I’ve also seen rumors that they target old accounts and manipulate the market (???) for oldie dragons? Does anybody have evidence for this?
I remember years ago they offered me about a quarter of what I ended up getting for one of my dragons, but the market is variable enough I didn’t think it was malicious. Now I can’t tell if they’re just attention seeking or actually scummy

they do consistently overprice their dragons, especially oldies. and then ping the collectors list repeatedly for the same dragons, just slightly lowering the price every time. i'm not sure how much they actually sell? because i swear to god i'm getting pings now for the same dragons i was getting pings for a year ago LOL (but that could be hyperbole).
i'm not sure if Alyxsandre does any of the "scamming users by PMing them directly about old dragons they may not know the value of" style BS, though i know that topic was discussed here recently regarding the user @/After.
with the language Alyxsandre uses in their posts, though, it really seems like they could use a break from FR. they have all these cool things - old dragons, fancy items, and a community of people who love talking about it all - and just still seem so miserable??? like, if it's not fun any more, you don't have to log in every day.

They do seem miserable all the time. It also seems like they seek the attention though.

replying to myself, Alyxsandre sent out ANOTHER ping today. decided to check their post history to see if i could find how many other times they'd pinged for a certain dragon, by searching their mentions of the dragon's ID# in the "Dragon Sales" forum.

June 2022 - this dragon "must go," priced at 70kg. (in another post on the thread made July 1st they said they'd ping again - sometimes they'll edit an old post in a thread to add more pings & then point to the first post, which can be confusing)

thread made late August 2022 - a post added on the 7th page says this dragon was added to the first-post sales list in early October 2022 for 70kg, tentative

early November 2022 - 55kg. gets an offer for 30kg, says someone else offered 50kg. sales close after 4 days because they reached a funding goal. genuinely happy for them to get a dream dragon! (not sure which dragon it is)

mid February 2023 - 80kg. a handful people show interest but say they don't have the funds. a few days later OP posts saying ABs have been lowered - unsure if this dragon's AB is one of them because the 80kg price tag is the highest it's ever been, increasing by 10kg from his first appearance. RE-ping in the same thread mid-May 2023.

early August 2023 - 80kg.

that's at least 6 pings across a span of 10 months for the same dragon, priced at a range of 55-80kg, with one public offer of 30kg. (if it were me selling, i'd probably expect 30-50kg for him, with the upper range kinda pushing it since he is bred. 30 feels maybe a smidge low, but @ 35kg i'd feel very happy to have made the sale, and i do think he's an awesome dragon with a cool ID, so i'd be motivated to keep him - my pricing estimate doesn't come from a place of being a hater.)

according to my currently-visible alerts, i also got two other sales pings from this person on July 10th & July 16th, for old dragons other than this one. not sure how many other sales pings i've gotten from them in those ten months, but it FEELS like i get multiple pings every month. but i don't want to remove myself from the pinglist & i don't want to block them, because they do a lot of buying and selling in a market i'm also active in.

now, just to be clear, i don't hate this person. i want them to be happy & healthy & all that jazz. but this is TOO MANY PINGS. and if your dragon hasn't sold in a year when you've been consistently pinging the collectors. i'm pretty sure that means your prices are too high.

just wanted to provide some actual data with my salt this time.

They get pissed if you buy a dragon from them and do what you want with it, despite ownership rules. They have rules against primal eye vials, for instance, and I saw them once waffling on a decision sell a dragon because the buyer wanted to scatter it.

Alyxsandre is an absolute douche. they've taken so many lil' subcultures of FR and tried to enforce their rules to be how everyone should enjoy playing. naomi, glitches, two letter. alyx has dipped their cunty fingers into it all. they don't like a lineage or dragon fame it ain't worth it and they will publicly throw passive aggressive posts around.

Well. Looks like they're 'selling' him for 400/500kg but who knows if they'll actually go through with it.
