Your Least Favorite Accent/Skin Trend

I'm not a fan of the skins where they put a human face where the pfp would show it. Some of them can be kind of cool, but man is it jarring to see in forums at times, haha.

(no hate on people who like to use those though, you're valid, it's just not my thing)

the put a million eyes, wings and swords in the dragon and slap some incense shit on top of it, it is so overdone and makes the dragons just a blurry mess tbh

+1

i know they sell well so thats why people keep making them its kind of overdone at this point. and that makes it double funny when people claim that someone copied their idea for a skin. homie its been the same thing for 7 years your Million Eyes And Angel Wings With Beams Of Light Accent #99999 is not that special

Extra wings tbh. There's a lot of skins I'd buy if if they took out the extra wings.

really detailed lines, to the point where you
you can't even tell what's in the skin. looks horrible compared to the cartoony FR dragon style imo. also face silks look like panties and i wish otherwise decent skins would stop being ruined by them ✋️

giving your accent weird ass names that are hard to type in the AH or generally to search for, i know you want to be unique but "brydrzsfgsdu42069" is not exactly easy to spell or type or correctly for your accent name buddy

accents/skins that only look good when the shadow/lineart layers are disabled for the previews. genuinely feels a bit scummy to open preorders with art that shows how it looks without them. i cant tell you how many times ive had to personally request an artist show how it would look on my dragon just so i can confirm that, yes, the accent looks like a muddy fucking mess with the lines+shadows included.

a good artist can draw something. but a good accent artist actually makes it look nice on a dragon.

Yep I dislike the human face thing and I tend to adblock the avatars of people who do that because honestly, no thanks.

Joke skins that are 50% or more "transparent" and turn the dragon into a random ass object. (And are usually tagged on GASP as "anatomy alterations," like, bitch, no, that's a joke skin, stop that.)

I dislike most skins/accents that use transparent parts to alter the outline. That includes the joke skins mentioned above, but also the ones that're still recognizably a dragon. It's usually not doing anything particularly interesting, and it seems extra pointless when the lines are still visible, glaringly so, and right there.

Very rarely it's used to somewhat cool effect, like that We're All Mad Here Cheshire Cat accent from Trickmurk Circus 2019. I'll probably never use it, because of the lines thing, but I appreciate the idea.

Those used to be a lot more effective before the profile revamp, when the dragons were on top of a plain white background. Now even a sceneless dragon has enough background texture where you can see the contrast very plainly.

That made it worse, for sure, but it was always very glaring to me.

Putting random chunks of scenery onto a dragon. It's been a trend for several years now and I can't stand it. I was pinged for an accent the other day that would've been an insta-buy for me if not for this and it made me upset.

I'm honestly surprised it hasn't been brought up in this thread yet, but maybe I'm just weird. No shame to those who do like this trend though.

White outlines. No salt to people who do like them, but heavy outlining in white makes the accent come across as "stickery" to me. Obviously sometimes that's the intended purpose, and in that case good for them! But a lot of the time I think it's jarring and distracting
