Are you speaking about odds the upcoming battle in the fall between Arcane and Light?

For Arcane to be in the running they need to bring their A game on all fronts - $$$$, IF power, and giving OOF lots of reasons to support them beyond just being the underdog. It's possible, but I'd bet on Light any day of the week in this matchup.

No, I mean the dominance week that just happened. Arcane was profit-pushing all this week, never reached third due to Beastclans, and Light out of nowhere on Saturday jumped both over Arcane and over the Beastclans into third.

I meant generally I'm not sure what Arcane has to do at this point to place in dominance while pushing, since their active profit push was lost to a non-pushing flight, seemingly by accident.

I do honestly agree though - even firing on all cylinders, I don't think Arcane beats Light.

as an arcanite i’m hoping and praying it’s because none of us really want to dig too deep into the reserves we’ve been building for avl so it doesn’t matter if we keep not placing in our profits. also house cup is just donation stuff for our side of the battle and it’s gone quite well in that respect so. once again… hoping and praying

I'm pretty sure arcanites were sending dragons to Plague instead of exalting themselves. That's what I was doing all week

Also I wouldn't call it an 'active' profit push, because most exalters (including me) were burnt out already and even dom leads forgot about the push. We have very low numbers according to our spreadsheet and honestly I'm not surprised.

I'm not sure how are we going to battle Light with this level of organisation :(

According to the dom leads themselves, it's a host of IRL issues. While understandable, I don't know why they haven't explicitly asked for help and/or recruit more people into the dom team. There's a good chance that people are willing to step up but they don't want to seem like an asshole especially when IRL issues are constantly cited for things being late/forgotten.

I'm not having much hope for arcane in AvL since the fest push is just a mere 2 months before and arcanites have very little experience with attending in general. Sending thoughts and prayers.

Agreed. Every time when someone tries to discuss the state of dom with the leads, they reply with 'IRL issues'. Then ofc people respond with 'IRL is more important than FR' and nothing changes. I don't know why they can't ask for help. I'm pretty sure there will be many people willing to run programs and such.

Tbh I get weird vibes from the 'busy with IRL' reply. It is mentioned very often when dom leads apologize for delays. It feels kinda... guilt-trippy to me. It's almost like they're saying 'we can't do dom properly, so no dom for you. cope' bevause they never ask for help either

Yeah, it's weird how the exact same thing plays out every time. At some point they need to take some personal responsibility and get some new people in so they can step down and deal with whatever IRL issues they apparently keep getting overwhelmed by. People expect dom leads to actually do their jobs properly, to be very blunt. The flight is gonna bleed out more dom-focused members at this rate.

Alternatively, they can also cut down on their workload of monthly profit pushes since they seem to be part of the problem.

as someone who tried to join the arcane dom team a while back, it really does feel like the current dom team is trying to remain in power... without doing anything. They get super uptight whenever someone tries to join and never shows any indication of passing the baton to people who actually have time and energy.

The team is nice, and I hope their IRL issues get resolved, but they should at least pass the reins to the people that want to/can help.

there are definitely people that are interested in stepping up or helping out in some way, so i have no clue why there's been no more recruitment into the dom team in the way that there's been recent recruitment into the flight discord's mod team, especially when there's some overlap between the two. i can't imagine why nobody is bothering to try and find assistance with the current issues, it seems weird especially with how irl problems is brought up so often. it's been going on for so long that you have to imagine it's been realized at some point that this isn't working. the "oh it's arcane, we're the funny silly flight, we're always chaotic!" can really only be joked about so many times before you start getting discouraged and wonder if the culture of lax dom is some partial excuse as to why so much seems mismanaged, rushed, and underplanned. i just. do not understand why there's no effort into searching for new additions. and you're right in that nobody is bringing it up probably because... what do you say other than "oh, it's ok, irl is more important" that doesn't make you seem like an asshole? no idea how you're meant to bring anything up without running the risk of seeming insensitive. nobody wants that pinned on them.

i too am worried about AvL and how it might be affected by the dom team seemingly not having it together. this battle has been in the works for over a year at least and it's going to be a bit of a letdown if things start going south, though i'm maintaining some faith in that it's more important than profit push #19384602, so maybe it'll be more of an "ok, let's get into gear now" moment...?
