da another arcanite here! the reason it's not public (the last i checked, which is at least a year or so ago) is because we had some big issues with people leaking our in flight bank info out of flight. that has happened unfortunately more than once. and the dom team decided that it would be better to just prevent future leakers. i don't blame them tbh, it sucked to both see people leaking our bank info on salt mine and other places and it sucked to find out that there were people whose first inclination would be to blab about their flight's money out of flight. but on the other hand, it also sucks that we have to do that because then we get shit on for not being transparent. lose-lose i guess =/

as to the latter it's more that there's a lack of experience and lack of long term commitment in flight, so anyone who could/would step up, usually drops out/leaves fairly soon. we've got a lot of enthusiasm, but not enough follow through. and in terms of the dom leads..... *sigh* all i know is that they seem to be constantly and consistently slammed with irl stuff. whether or not that's true i don't know, but that's what they tell us. personally i would really, really REALLY rather they just flat out admit they can't handle it anymore, rather than be consistently late with shit and what not but i also realized long ago that that's never gonna happen. *sighs again* i super miss our old dom lead and team, but i do fully understand why they had to leave (massive burnout from giving 10000% of their time and energy to arcane dom)

i have to agree, i'm also sort of resigned to things continuing this way because... how do i say this kindly? going on such a long time of it being like this, it doesn't look likely that anyone on the team is going to say anything like "i'm too busy, i've been too busy for far too long". how long has it been like this now? years? at what point does it become big enough of a problem? i don't know what internal talks are like, obviously, but is it ever considered in those? when do you put feelers out for assistance? last time i checked, they were opening applications to the team over a year ago, in the dom guide post, but it's not been edited so i can only assume that it's joined the number of things left to sit in limbo. like, do people even know about it?

it's disappointing that we've reached the point of people not knowing when our pushes are, guides so out of date, half our dom event threads dead, badges never being ready on time, raffles consistently being late, entire parts of pushes being forgotten about... i like the people on the team, but it's difficult on the morale to continue this way not knowing if the experience will ever get better. sigh indeed, anon.

I definitely wasn't aware that the Dom Bank information had been leaked, that makes a lot more sense that they would keep it private. It really does seem lose-lose, anon, I'm sorry that you and other Arcanites have to deal with that.

im honestly not sure how i feel about this explanation. ive seen bank info leaked on drama sites or discord/tumblr/etc for most of the flights at some point or another. obviously it sucks when that happens but given how large all of the flights are you kind of need to assume that no matter how locked down everything is, people will talk about internal stuff. keeping things incredibly locked down ends up looking like a transparency issue rather than a tactical decision. its better to be organized and semi-public than private with no proof of organization or planning.

NAYRT totally agree. ultimately anyone can "spy" on dom stuff by just making another account lol. the trust of a flight's members is more important than keeping what they have in the bank secret. also how would anyone act on that information anyway and why would it matter, except maaaaybe if you were prepping for a battle but even then i don't see it mattering.

yeah, imo the only real reason (outside of nalice or disorganization, but i dont really think thats the case here) for keeping bank sheets private is to "hide" any advantages/plans for battles, but even then most modern battles are scheduled almost a year in advance and have clear pre-battle agreements on stuff like OOF support methods. that schedule/planning should provide a decent timeline and goal amount for bank #s. while it could provide an advantage to know that your enemy has less $ than you, its really not much more than a morale boost unless if your bank is so dogshit that you have half what your opponent does, but thats more of a fundraising/org problem lol

i know the celestial senate happened literal years ago and maybe im just beating a dead horse but it kinda feels like arcane dom orgs might be projecting a bit with this paranoia about spies or leakers. i dont really see this in other flights, from what ive seen at least

Light's dom bank locks itself down during battles so that the other flight can't check it and see how much money we have left and, if they have the funds for it, starve us out money-wise. I think that's a reasonable time to lock it, but it is the only time light dom locks the bank info from the flight. I don't see any other reason why a flight should have it locked away from the people who are contributing to it. That money doesn't belong to the Dom Team, it belongs to the flight
